Ok so I'm considering partial again because I'm soooo desperate..When you try partial, how many of you actually push down instead of just letting gravity do the work? Every time I try partial I just let myself fall down and then the SI kicks in after a while. I think maybe it's better to push down hard initially. It might be uncomfortable but I guess it doesn't really matter if you pass out faster? What are your experiences regarding this?

I did partial from above door tied to doorknob; I let go of my weight while standing; also would stand on tippy toes and arms lifted to air, lets me get convulsions faster and fuzzy feeling; I got convulsions but didnt pass out, almost did though I believe. sorry if not very helpful

Yes it's helpful I'm glad for every answer I can get ^-^ So maybe you should also try to push down hard initially, so that you pass out pretty quickly and don't perceive the convulsions. I think for this to work you would have to push down and then immediately relax your muscles, so that you do it in one flowing movement. I'm going to try this and hope it works

So you basically combine the force of gravity and your muscles, achieving maximum downward pressure to pass out as fast as possible. Sorry if this sounds dumb I'm really desperate and I'm starting to get inventive to ctb

I wish you luck, friend. If I get another chance to use door I will try that. Right now I must settle with tourniquet.

Yesterday I tried tourniquet again..I got to the point of feeling lightheaded but that's it. I couldn't apply more pressure because the rod wouldn't let me. It was also painful because of the ligature digging into my skin. I think I'm too stupid for tourniquet haha. Tonight I'm going to give it another try, this time I'm going to use padding for comfort. I also wish you best of luck

I think I'm going to try partial again tomorrow, I'm lucky I have a turtle neck jumper I use for comfort. I think I will try over the door at home because it's too risky to go to the woods during the day. I think that's a helpful tip to push down fast then relax the muscles. I've never tried the tourniquet method before. I don't think I would understand how to do it properly. I've thought to try drowning instead but I don't have anything to weigh me down.

I'm planning to do partial and I wonder if a rope from a drawstring bag would work fine. I don't weigh much.

I'm so ready to just leave this world. Been following this thread for a while now and have read each and every comment on each and every page. I've actually learned a lot here but the most common thing in everyone is the damn SI getting in the way. I'm not sure I can conquer it either but if I'm in the position of "no return" then guess I won't have a choice xD .... I just wonder where to do it... I don't want my family to find my body (my son is young and don't want to traumatise him in that way) but at the same time I feel guilty for wanting to die. I don't know if anyone can relate but I just feel like I don't belong in this world.

I have had depression from a young age and need to be on meds basically life long cos I have BPD. Funny thing is I'm not deciding on suicide cos my life sucks and I'm not depressed technically. I just feel my time has come.

Does anyone kinda want a suicide buddy? That probably sounds aweful but seeing as there are so many suicidal people it wouldn't be strange right? Maybe I am just crazy I dunno...

Sorry for my extreme randomness

I dunno what exactly I did wrong Sorry :'(
You didn't do anything wrong. Just saying that, if you're looking for a partner, then you can post in the Partners megathread, but check the first post in that thread so that you know how to request.

Edit: Should have made my post clearer - my mistake.

I have been trying partial for a while and I finally go "some" results. Rather than going unconscious I started getting I think what were convulsions while still conscious. I panicked and managed to loosen the knot. Anyone know why im not going unconscious?

how long did this last? It took me well.. dont know exactly but maybe about 30-40secs to become put in trance and weird fuzzy white light; before that were convulsions. and by tracne i mean i was starting to become unconsious i believe i wasnt even there at that point...

It took me around like 10-20 seconds of getting like a tingly feeling in my head until the convulsions started. I wasn't aware that I would get convulsions while conscious so I stopped like 5 -10 seconds into the convulsions. Should I try to power through the convulsions or is there a way to go unconscious before them?

it took me about 10 tries to get past fear of convulsion... i took 4 over the counter sleep aids and on 4th try of getting warm and fuzzy and convulsion i was in trance about 25 or so seconds in; i was interupted, this "trance" feeling was like i wasnt conciuous so i believe i may have been near passing out; so for me pushing through seemed like it was working. as for if there is a way to pass out before that, i am not sure

What position are you using? I use under adams apple and stand and lean forward; i havent gotten another chance yet; but it has been suggested to press down on you sweet spot fast and alot of pressure then relax muscles; i believe that may be the way to pass out fast. this shows example of woman trying pressure and release; dont know if youve seen before or not.

What are the convulsions like? Does it make a lot of noise drawing attention?

I do same stand and lean forward under adams apple, When I start to feel the tingly and light headed I should stand up with the knot still tight? Usually I keep pushing forward hoping I pass out.

Not really sure about noise becuase I only had them for like 5 seconds, but if you are doing it near a door like me It would make some noise.

Yes, noise may be a problem, do not underestimate convulsions; I did home alone and I fell backwards into doorknob. Convulsions vary to person to person i have seen some people barely move in hanging videos i guess i am unlucky haha, so hard to say exactly.

personally when i took pressure off I lost feeling; but! again may have to put immense ammount of pressure than release; i just casually let go of my weight then stand on tippy toes and raise hands up, for me i get feeling faster for some reason.

I keep trying partial but it seems to cut my windpipe off and makes SI kick in. Is that normal?

There has been a lot of discussion about hanging, but I haven't seen any mention of fractures of the hyoid bone, which I understand to be a common characteristic of strangulation.
Any comments ?

Just to clarify if you dont know, this is partial hanging; so not full body weight, you're on the ground and weight put on your neck/arteries to cut blood flow off; so find a good spot to hold yourself and most people arent lucky... well alot on this site, including myself, cant seem to die the first time, mostly because we cant pass out. So you need to make sure you find you arteries and once people find those they usually actually try and die. sorry if you already knew some of this, but here anyways.

what area on the neck are you trying? you may have to put ligature in a different spot.

I've tried the second method.

First time i used a way to thin rope, connected to the door handle, threw to the other side of the door and hung myself. As i said, the rope was to thin so it broke. Passed out really really quick to the point i woke up on the ground shaking not remembering why i was on the ground.

Second "try"(not even a real attempt) I bought a thick rope that should handle my FULL body weight.. I tied it to a wooden beam above my stairs. Tried to pass out but I couldn't! Tried it a couple of times over a couple of days, but just couldn't pass out.

Finally found some info here on SS (which atm i thought was stupid) that helped me pass out: don't put the part of rope from your neck up to the beam right behind you, but more to the left/right.

It took sometime longer than my first try, but at least i got to pass out.

Problem here is i can't like lean backwards, so i just bended my knees untill i pass out. After i pass out, I somehow stand up regaining consciousness.

I was thinking of any of the other methods from the picture, like the third method, with my legs more or less down the stairs so it would be harder for me to get up while passed out. (but would it be harder tho?)

The fourth method seems like the second method only way lower. I figure if i somehow get up with method 2, i will at method 4 to.

The full (first) one is something i would not want, but when no other options so be it.

tl;dr: need help NOT standing up while unconscious

I've done so much research about hanging the past few months, I think I know everything I need to do to die. I don't care about pain as long as I die and the ropes secure so I don't fail.

I'm thinking I might buy a pull up bar, the one you hook over a door frame, and book a hotel room. And I might buy an actual rope. Put it all in a suitcase, they won't know what's inside.
Might book 2 days just to make sure, and tell the cleaner not to come in.

Only problem is I can't drive, so I'll have to get a taxi to a shop to buy the rope and get a taxi to the hotel. I'll order the pull up bar online.

Also I need to make up an excuse to tell my mum, as I live with her and I never leave the house so she'll find it suspicious if I'm gone for a couple days.

Anyway I'm definitely gonna kill myself soon, but I'm not 100% sure I'll do it this way, would appreciate it if anyone has any others ideas on how I can do it. Like where to do it and what with.
I'd like to do it inside and not outside in like a park. Cos I want to be comfortable when I die.
Put my favourite music on. Get drunk.
