Method Tips on two methods

(Edit: improved phrasing) I want tips for two methods, partial suspension hanging and the ligature method. I will decide on my own after testing. For reference, I have tried the partial suspension method by using the rod inside my closet as an anchor while kneeling inside. My head started to feel full and my vision started to blur. I panicked and stood up, when I made the attempt I wasn't mentally ready but had already set a date (I was mentally ready the days before ironically). I haven't found much sucess locating my carotid artery so I would like some tips on that as well. One last thing, how does one get over the panic? Or is it something you have to push through? Thank you for any advice in advance

I think partial is best for the truly resolved, exactly because it is (usually) so easy to back out from it. I guess that's a good and bad thing at the same time. My cousin succeeded at partial using a clothing rod in a closet, except he did so standing up. Just planted his feet against the back wall and leaned forward.

I really don't know much about the ligature method, but here's a diagram you may, or may not, find useful.

Finding the "sweet spot" with partial takes practice and lots of adjustment. You just have to keep playing with your rope until you find the right placement.

I generally advise not to do this. It adds pressure to the attempt which is more likely to increase SI. Instead, wait until you are in a calm mental place (about your death, at least). Facing death as a purposeful decision goes a long way towards success.
