Explain like I'm 5; how does the carotid artery compression work with a ligature? When I have tried in doing with either partial or full the pressure is just crushing the trachea and cutting off breathing but not seemingly the right blood flow.

I have used a slipknot and this rope which is cotton like soft fibres. I'm using this or my finger I've never managed to exactly locate and pressure the carotid using directions on this site and it is elongating the pr Fees to make it unsuccessful and stressful. Thanks in advance

With my most successful attempts, I used wide zip ties, or a regular necktie. I think the most important aspects are, ligature wide enough to successfully block the carotid, even pressure on each side.

I think my zip tie attempt would have been successful if I had tightened them around a fulcrum instead of relying on my arm strength.
