I'm 22 too felling a lot of mixed emotions about it and none of them are good. Mostly angry at myself that I'm already 22 and I haven't done anything with my life and I literally have nothing and can't do pretty much anything. Definitely can't do anything that in my opinion might make me happy so it is worth doing@Alec People keep telling me that I'm so young like that's a good thing, but being this young and having lost all the opportunities I had... and having a series of life-threatening mental health episodes already, in turn causing me to lose even more, just means my life will never return to its optimal trajectory. I had ambitions and dreams for my life... I've been intermittently sad for a long time, but I continued with what little optimism I had. I'd also never acted in a way that I regretted towards people until I became ill. Shit hit the fan, I wish I could go back to when I didn't have anything to regret. I'd always been kind.
Although I think a lot of people who appear to be doing a lot with their lives are equally unhappy as us and in denial, or put a lot of effort into making it look as though their lives are better than they are. Try not to be too hard on yourself and realise everything is caused by myriads of factors, it isn't your fault things aren't good at the moment.

Yes, things can always change, but change is not always a good thing. When I was 16, I was absolutely miserable. I'm now 33, and my life has only worsened with time. Like you, it makes me sad (sick to my stomach, actually) to see young people who ctb, or wish they could ctb, but the reality is, things don't necessarily get better with time, and I often find myself wishing that I had kms when I was a teenager.I'm 24. Already been made a widower so feel 92!

28 as well. Emotionally I feel stuck at 13 but physically I feel 90. When I registered for this site almost a year ago (I was only a lurker back then) I listed the year 1999 as my birth year instead of 1990. It seemed more fitting since that's the year I became chronically depressed and suicidal. The first 9 years of my life are just a distant memory now, almost like they never happened.Last edited:
