Regional Differences

I'm just curious about the differences between regions/countries.

Here's a few examples from an American:
We use the imperial system. We're one of only 3 countries that use it, the other two being Myanmar and Liberia. Whereas the rest of the world uses the Metric system.
Here we call them cookies, but I believe in the UK they call them biscuits
Here in the Americas, we drive on the right hand side of the road. Yet, it seems that on all other continents people drive on the left side of the road.
Here we pronounce it "mom" but many others pronounce it "mum".
Here we call it soccer while the rest of the world calls it football. Football to us is extremely different.
Unless it's a chirping bug, we don't have a fucking clue what cricket is.
To most of you reading this, a 30° day is a hot ass day. To us, a 30° day is literally below freezing which is 32°.
I'm not sure about this one, but here we refer to it as a tractor/trailer or a rig, but in the UK I think you guys call it a Laurie?
I can't say for any other countries, but in less than 80 years since declaring our independence, we were already in a civil war.
We accept your currency, but most countries won't accept ours. The American dollar is worth less and less as time goes on.
Most Americans only speak American English, whereas many other countries speak two languages due to English being the international language of trade.
Other countries a re fairly welcoming, whereas we're completely xenophobic.
I can't say for anyone else on this, but here people worship money. They may call themselves a particular religion, but money is their actual god. If you have it, you have worth. If you don't have it you're both worthless and useless.



Off the top of my head, that's all I can think of. I'd love to hear more that anyone else may have noticed.

We are one of the most liberal countries in the world when it comes to immigration and xenophobia. Unless you view "the world" as just Western Europe and the Anglosphere.

In the views of who? In the US pretty much everyone hates the rich and views the poor as the oppressed underdogs

Not all of these are true (or differences), but I do also find regional differences to be very interesting to learn about. If my life was actually good I would have loved to visit another country.

Not all of these are true (or differences), but I do also find regional differences to be very interesting to learn about. If my life was actually good I would have loved to visit another country.

So many if these are very inaccurate. These are either generalizations about Americans that are just not true, or you are factually incorrect.

Both Canada and the UK use a mix of the imperial and metric systems.

Here in the Americas, we drive on the right hand side of the road. Yet, it seems that on all other continents people drive on the left side of the road.

This is straight up untrue.

"Mama" is also quite common.

What is this supposed to even mean? Grasshoppers, crickets, cicadas, and several other bugs make chirping noises.

I do not understand the statement at all. I have not seen foreign currency accepted anywhere in the US except for Canadian coins when I was younger.

Do you have any evidence of this? There's literally hundreds of YouTube videos of foreigners coming to visit the US and saying how nice and welcoming we are. What are you talking about?

Again, do you have evidence of this? This is an extremely general statement that I know for a fact is not applicable to the majority of the American population. Just because our society runs on capitalism does not mean everyone worships money.
