I know of an old school friend that hung herself,but we weren't close,we lost contact after school. Other than that,no one.
As to why she did it! I don't know,I do know that she lost access to her children,so maybe it was that.

My Mum, Dad and Sister have attempted to CTB. Mum the most.

Now I've got to roughly the same age that she did when she had her breakdown and now it's apparently my turn

I know of 7 people who ctb. 2 friends and 5 work colleagues. All in their 20s and 30,s and 6 men,1 woman. One man was just 21 and many people were traumatized on hearing the news. I was shocked too. He was the kindest soul you could know and he seemed so emotionally mature for his age. I think the signs were there Months before and some people felt guilty for not helping him. my father attempted ctb but the lorry missed him by inches. My grandad gassed himself. I have learned to respect their decisions to leave this world. I too feel this pain that runs deep.

Just one, she was in her twenties and died by hanging. I'm not sure the reason but she had been unstable for quite some time. xo, j

Before his death my method was hanging, starving or jumping but it never worked.
That's why I picked his method since then.

My very close friend (who is my cousin actually) attempted many times overdose and hanging but would always fail.
When I was 5 years old, my dad attempted overdose in alcohol but failed as well.

I personally don't know anyone but my cousin does. She lives in a small town and she told me how last year a girl in his class ctbd in front of the school by jumping in front of a truck. I checked SaSu if that girl had made any posts on here and on the 12 of April 2022, the day she ctbd a goodbye post was made. Weirdly I can't find the post anymore. That users username was "letmedieinpeace" if someone wants to check it out.

i had a friend die by suicide back in 2021. i don't know how she died because we hadn't really talked for a while before she died and i found out about her suicide over the school's announcement.

No, it was a friend of mine, she ctb'ed on Monday.
She was lucky bc she didn't follow the protocol spectacularly and did it impulsively, she didn't use a scale and measured the sn with tablespoon, didn't fast enough. And she likely doubled the dosage.

The father of my ex hanged himself. I think because he was still loving his wife and she did not.
One of my friend OD.
One of my uncle hanged himself in his car. I don't know exactly why. But I know that he wanted to divorce but his wife wanted to take all his belonging with her which was a lot.
One of my aunt crash herself with a car after an argument with her husband and son. She was hit by them.
One student jumped while I was doing a trainee-ship in the school. She survived and was put in coma for several months. Then, I did not hear what she becomes.
I saw one person jumping from a church.

Paternal grandmother and uncle (CO), 3 maternal aunts (jumping, drowning, hanging), a partner of a firm I used to work for (train), college friend (intentional OD) were successful. Sibling (slitting wrists) and another college friend (slitting wrists, another attempt with pills) were unsuccessful.

Fascinating, that would be one of the very, very few examples of someone who didn't really follow the protocol to a T and still managed to ctb, it does demonstrate how seriously lethal SN can be.

A woman who hosted us at Oregon Country Fair, a couple years after that, the renter of a house of a friend of mine (gunshot to the head) who I had met a few times, the stepdaughter of that same friend, although it wasn't disclosed as suicide, but she overdosed on what I believe was oxycodone, a coworker who I suspect died by suicide, based on the publicly disclosed facts, and a therapist I had seen a number of times 10 years ago, again based on the way it was presented on the internet, I suspect it was also suicide. And going way back to middle school a classmate's mother said dying by suicide, but I never met her.

Suicide is not uncommon, just not talked about much.
