Report the user Red86 below as I intend to do. He has essentially told POC to piss off and stop talking about racism and the impact it may have on their decision to CTB.

This person saw the thread had been closed due to conflicts. Saw a person had been ejected for causing discord and does precisely the same thing. Seeking really to push POC over the edge by denying their lived experiences, and, Newave3 who was a banner waver and confetti thrower for the clear racist Bullitt comes along to cheer him on. Quelle surprise.
It's clear to me that people have free rein to make POC feel like shit whilst simultaneously gas lighting them.

To think I was going to come onto this site to eventually say goodbye whilst documenting my experience of SN. ...no way will I now disclose such a highly personal end experience and inadvertently help people who are potentially dismissive of POC.

Every time I see the topic raised anywhere on the internet, some sanctimonious, narrow-minded individual with no lived experience on the subject feels compelled to say some variation of the following: "Stop playing the race card," "You're just being a victim," and even "Racism doesn't exist in this country, it's all just propaganda."

Please, just give it a rest. Fuck's sake.

No-one is suggesting that life cannot be difficult in the absence of these factors. Of course it can. But they do come with their own challenges, inequalities and disadvantages, which are pervasive, entrenched and systemic. If someone saying this and sharing their story makes you somehow feel invalidated or threatened, that says something about you, not those who have been subjected to racism and dare to speak up about it.

Stating those realities and wanting to share those experiences without being subjected to the very discrimination and ignorance that contributed to someone being here on a suicide forum in the first place should not be too much to ask.

Don't make me go and find stats on african refugees fleeing to their neighbors after some civil war, and how they are viewed or treated there, and if they aren't "racist" - to their own kind.

Who said I am American? If you think the rhetoric I described only happens in Alabama and Arkansas (nice stereotyping there, by the way), that's incorrect. I live in a different country and have lost count of the number of times I have heard someone here say "Racism isn't real, it's not an issue here really."

The more extreme racist rhetoric earlier on this thread has been deleted, but it was there. Writing in response to a report about about racism "GO BACK HOME!" is both racist in the context of this thread, and xenophobic.

I have not seen you make any contribution other than to tell people to stop being "woke" and taking issue with people for stating that they're black, LGBT etc. What exactly is the purpose of you posting on this thread? This thread was intended to be a space where people could share their experiences in relation to race, racism etc. Look at what it has been turned into.

What is far more "annoying" is people who have no lived experience whatsoever of racism, feeling the need to insert themselves and their unwanted, uninformed opinions into a dialogue that has absolutely nothing to do with them, and for some reason feeling affronted by people sharing their experiences of discrimination.

Alright I'll lock this thread permanently because regulation is just too much work. This thread is about struggles of POC - as the title implies - and how the treatment of society contributed to said struggles. It's very simple. This is not the right thread to "debunk" racism, use an UNO reverse card or imply some kind of political "invasion". It's very inappropriate and apparently, this thread can't exist without people hijacking the actual topic and that's really sad. I'm disappointed because the actual idea behind this thread is very important. I think there should be a place for POC to talk about their daily struggles without someone making it about their own hateful political ideas.

This forum isn't the right place to get into someones thread that's about their experienced struggles and suffering and invalidate them, start arguments and derail the actual purpose of the topic. This is an absolute no-go, it doesn't matter if it's about ethnicity related struggles, sexual orientation, gender identity, issues about physical appearance, if it's lack of romantic experiences or anything else. What makes this forum so special - in my opinion - is that we're all supposed to have this understanding and empathic place to openly talk and vent without judgement. And this didn't happen here because some bad apples decided to ruin this for everyone. I'm gonna think about this issue and see if I can come up with a solution that allows people to express themselves without all the nonsense that has happened in here because as I said, it's tragic that we can't just accept and respect the idea behind this thread and appreciate the shared experiences of these members. Sorry for the inconvenience.
