Lol 11. Genuinely don't think anyone would care or even notice if I died at this point. I've done this to myself though. Because of my mental health conditions I do everything to avoid people. But it gets lonely sometimes, having no friends, no partner and barely seeing your family even though they live in the same house...

1. 1, I rarely felt lonely. I actually love being in solitude but to feel lonely is indeed a bad feeling to go through. Solitude is different from being lonely. I don't really care about making friends, making partner since I'm never interested making connections other than my family with exception of working at any job and I avoid those at all costs from prevent myself from getting way too invested in them emotionally because I'm more of a people pleaser.
2. I feel this is more of an individual thing. All goes through how one was raised, personality, any present mental illnesses and many other factors. Each one is unique in how reacts and process differently about how they feel. Some are prone in feeling more lonely than others.
3. No, I rather die for other causes. Ironically, I rather die from getting a bad conversation moment with someone I'm close with than being lonely.

Lonely, isolated and old. It seems like its basically downhill due to medical complications from Cancer of the Larynx treatment and now
GI problems which will require an operation. What new Hell will come after this?
I have two part-time jobs, one of which I hate. From 2016 to 2019 I was suicidal because I couldn't find work and would have gladly accepted any shitty job (and I had too look after my mom)
I had a lot of miserable feelings about my mom who died April 9, 2020 of Covid. I promised people I would not CBT because I was the only
person in the family who could visit her and help her.
I've lost very important friends besides family in 2020 and 2021 and I can't seem to replace any of them. I was never that extroverted to begin with.
Feeling sorry for myself? I suppose. I keep living only because I am afraid to die. That's what sucks: the will to live is so strong.

Loneliness is indeed the main reason why I'm suicidal. As a kid, the other kids always excluded me from social groups, parties, everything. They let me know I was at the bottom in worth. And so I'm very attuned to anything that could be considered a slight, and very fearful of social interaction generally. I think as a result, I take socializing much more seriously than other people and could be accused of not being able to relax.

So today I'll call my loneliness an 8. When I have a big problem or flare-up and I'm still alone, that's when it feels like a 10.

SS has been beneficial for me because people here are very non-judgmental and we can talk through some dark shit.

But to solve my loneliness, I think something major would have to change. America is a big work camp and nobody has any time for each other. We will all die with so many regrets. But if I don't take my life soon, my biggest regret will be prolonging the pain.

Human loneliness. The modern life is weird. Thousands and millions of people are living close to each other but many of us are nevertheless isolated. It is pretty strange that a lot of people can live in apartments in the same house, but they never socialize with each other. In the society, we have healthcare, dental care, psychiatry and old age care, but where shall we go with our loneliness? Man is a social being, we are not created to live alone. Civilization is the cause of social isolation - the caveman had to cooperate to survive. In big cities, single households and loneliness are common. You can live your hole life in a big city and never get to know anyone there. And the older you get, the smaller the circle of acquaintances becomes. If you move to another town, this can lead to loneliness. Bullying can lead to loneliness. Disease can lead to loneliness. But maybe you are just unlucky. There are humans who are not alone, but they feel alone when they meet other people, people who do not understand them. And a pandemic like covid-19 makes people even more lonely.

Death and loneliness. Too many people die alone. There are humans who die alone in their homes and some people die alone in hospitals without relatives, these patients only have the medical staff with them. A person who committs suicide must almost always die alone, but no one should actually have to die alone. However, what is right to do is not always legal since it is illegal to help someone to die. Suicide will make you lonely because suicide is taboo.

This is how your body is affected by involuntary loneliness: high blood pressure, impaired sleep, pain in the body, susceptibility to infections, digestive system problems, drug abuse is common, concentration difficulties, memory problems, mood swings and depression. Involuntary loneliness is as dangerous as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

What can we do about it? Human loneliness is not the individual´s fault, basically it is a societal issue. In England, a minister of loneliness has been appointed. Internet is a place where almost everything can be found nowadays; contact sites and other webbsites where people can write to each other. Go to a church and talk to a priest. Call a relative. Go to a shop and say something nice to someone in the store. Go to a library and read a book. Talk to your neighbour. Write a letter to someone. Pets are nice, but they can not replace humans. We can use this thread to write about loneliness.

5. i'm usually lonely at night. i have a lot of friends and am very social but i feel alone because i don't have someone to share all my happiness with. i miss that and i don't think i'll get it back because of the trust issues and trauma i have developed over the last few months.

this site helps a lot, i want to die less when i meet others who feel the same.
