An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
Since you learned that Trump will be the American president for the next 4 years, are you more suicidal or less? Obviously the question concerns American users more than anything else, although in the end, given what is at stake, I would say that at the moment it affects European users as well.
To me, honestly, it made me more suicidal initially, now I would say neutral.
it does sting a bit knowing that my ex split with me a day after the election ended and Trump won the presidency, he was boasting about how happy he won and then had a whole discussion about wanting to part ways with me and start a new chapter. One of the most painful phone calls I ever had.
On the other hand, each policy he sends out leaves me more angry and frustrated. They're trying to deem it a felony to identify as trans in certain states, the rise of costs and goods are going to increase because of tariffs, RFK Jr. wanting to eliminate mandatory vaccines in schools putting childrens' lives at risk, mass deportations of immigrants are on the rise.. it's a whole shitshow and we're already leaning towards a dictatorship. I mentioned this before, but Trump literally wants blue states to be wiped off the map. Anyone who thinks differently from him is seen as an enemy in his eyes.
I didn't have much faith in the US government though, there's a lot of things going on behind the scenes that we are unaware of.
I;m not even American, I just wish I could stop hearing about mr annoying orange and his best friend mr cyberstuck. Stand up Americans, it's about time already

Yes. Even though I'm not American, it just depresses me that people like him and Musk do so well in this world. It's just more reason I want out. Plus, while I'm not massively close to people here, it's still distressing to see how much it's affecting some of our US members.
Yes it definitely has sped up the timeline for me. I am worried he will crash the economy or even worse a great a depression. Maybe not this year but I dont want to wait around to find out. thats prob the biggest one and everything else hes doing does not make me want to be a part of this world anymore.
Yes, I have depression and anxiety anyway but throw in these maniacs who are going to do their best at cutting benefits namely SSI. I just heard today how DOGE is going to 'break' SS they're going to require people on line to verify something but people who don't have a computer will have to go to a field office which they already closed many and fired 7,000 people. Im on benefits now but this will make applying for them a nightmare. Hi, I'm new
Definitely more suicidal. I live in Israel and I oppose the war on Gaza. Trump and Netanyahu are close friends, so Israel can get away with anything now. It's very dangerous.

The rise of the right wing in general as well as it being synonymous with hate against anyone who's not a cis white male (seriously? we're going back on woman's reproductive rights?)

I could have written this myself. I don't want to wait around to see what happens. The world is circling the drain. A crash, a depression, a world war...I don't want to live through any of it
Yes , he's administration is just proof that the human race is going the wrong direction and I'm just glad I don't have to stick around long enough to see the world crumble.

Yes it's unfortunate. I had some hope for a fulfilling life in the future had he not won but the damage hes doing/will do over the next 4 years will affect the world greatly.

I oppose it too and in the US we are not allowed to be on the Palestinian side I heard Trump had something to do with the 8th which wouldnt surprise me
I would say, "lol, no," to OP's question. It's the massive number of people who follow him and their personal beliefs that make me more suicidal. He only does what he does to get more power. He'll say anything. He's a liar, so he personally does not affect me at all. The rest of the human race does a good enough job of that all on their own.
The fact that enough Americans like him to vote him into office AGAIN … at the very least fuels my feelings of hopelessness. It honestly makes me sick but also, opens my eyes to the world we live in.
Trump's second election hit me hard in a big, big way.
A few days ago I was strolling through a supermarket when I saw a Spanish speaking family. As I walked past, their daughter, maybe about 8 or 9, picked up a large stuffed bunny out of a nearby cardboard bin. It was about the size of a beach ball. She started bouncing it against the ground. I could immediately tell that she was playing, trying to make the bunny "hop". It was charming.
But then, thinking about her, and the state of our country... It just broke me.
I can't believe how cruel and spiteful people must be to feel like they need to go after kids like our current administration does. It's just unthinkable. How can people be so be so heartless to innocent children? Just because they're different than you? Just because you think they don't belong here? Where does this kind of evil come from? Just because you can make scrape away more money for yourself because you don't have to provision for anyone anymore as a society? Your taxes went down $1.39 because that kid won't have an education or even a future anymore? You're okay with them being disappeared? What the fuck is wrong with people? I just can't understand it.
I'm worried about myself, sure, but I just can't take the naked evil that people have outwardly, and gleefully displayed in light of all this. I thought we were different as a county. I thought we were better than this.
Doesn't make me any less or more apt to ctb, my feeling remains the same. I don't let politics or politicians determine how I live or die. They can all kiss my ass, whichever side of the spectrum they are on. Fuck all of them, Republicans, Democrats, and everyone in between.
I;m not even American, I just wish I could stop hearing about mr annoying orange and his best friend mr cyberstuck. Stand up Americans, it's about time already
Americans will not admit that they are the problems. They voted for him, they love to brag about their freedom then pretend as if freedom just gone away during the election times. They continue to settle and then blame the government instead of even banding together to vote for the gum on our shoes as a way to protest settling for losers they won't do. They wouldn't vote third party and pretend they would. "Oh I love Jill. I just would only vote for her if she's on the first ballot because I refuse to write-in. I refuse to take the extra step to ask for a write-in ballot."
When I saw that American betting on Trump with their own money on Robinhood, I was genuinely over America and Americans themselves. My foreign friends, don't be fooled, the American people don't want positive change for everyone. They want it for themselves as an independent at the end of the day. No one here is working to improve the lives of their community, just their family. We never had the plot. We need the plot dictated in us atp.
Seriously we are all screwed. No , im serious.
imagine that military power mixed with extreme delusion and mistrust.

That's not even getting into the Americans who will go "well, I didn't vote for him", omitting the fact that they didn't vote at all and are thus partly to blame for the mess in their country.

Low-key, i live in a blue state. I knew we were voting blue. I told everyone the day my state votes red I'll eat my own words, but my state has stated democrats even when Democrats were Republican we getting the worst with trump. But I knew Trump was gonna to win because we can bet on the election what a mockery to everything. If you think people didn't call up their friends to put their money on Trump and then vote for the fucker. You're either dumber than rocks or as innocent as a baby kangaroo idefk. But we LITERALLY have ALL the access in the world to get accurate information and we refuse to time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time again.
