yesterday i decided that idk when but im gonna hang myself since there is no other method that is affordable or its just hard to get things needed to do sth. which one is more effective? partial or just the normal way? any tips for that? i dont have a place to do this yet. i guess partial in the closet maybe and uh full suspention in the forest somewhere..i just read the hanging thread and some other "guides" and stories but i am still not sure. last question..is there sth to stop my si or uhh just make it less strong? i already tried partial once but i stopped mid trying because my si was going thru the roof, and i was 12 so i was just dumb lol.
dont try to make me change my mind, if ill do it-ill do it. if not-its my business. ty

Recommend against FSH. Not only because it requires a stronger rope to support your full body weight but also because there's a small chance that due to the positioning of the knot you won't go unconscious and instead will suffocate to death

I don't know what to say about the survival instinct. That one gets me every time. Last night I tried partial hanging and was actually blacking out and somehow, I don't' remember this part, got back up all the way. It was very surreal.

I'm thinking maybe some benzo's, Benadryl or alcohol could lower it a bit.

I don't think anyone here is going to "try to change your mind". This is a safe space for people to discuss their suicidal feelings.

I've read that most people graduate from partial to full but I seem to have gone the other way. I have a partial setup in my closet right now that gives me tingly extremities and a weird rush from blood cutoff. I think it's feasible, just more intense in terms of physical sensation than I thought.

What you're saying makes no sense. Full Suspension Hanging is better than Partial Hanging because you use your entire body weight to exert pressure. The way to avoid mistakes is by reading and researching on the forum, so you can perform the procedure correctly and lose consciousness quickly.

📌 Brief summary of some points in the Hanging method: death mechanism, ligature (knots and position), anchor point (knots), rope (type, material, thickness), testing, general advice

📌 Mistakes in the Hanging method

📌 Main points where the attempt may fail

You don't need a rope from another world; most synthetic materials are strong, such as polyester and polypropylene (cheap and easy to find), between 10 and 14 mm thick. They would easily support a person's weight. And if you still have doubts, you can check the rope's label and read its Working Load Limit (WLL).
It is even mandatory to test your anchor point and rope before any attempt; neither should break or show any damage. Tie the rope to the anchor point and hang from it with your hands, applying all your weight. Repeat this several times.

The correct position of the ligature and its knot are always necessary, regardless of whether it is Full or Partial Suspension. This is key to achieving loss of consciousness within seconds and adequate compression of the carotid arteries.

Spreading fear is pointless.

I've literally seen videos of FSH where they're clearly conscious throughout and struggling with their hands trying to undo the knot.

Poor execution of the procedure doesn't necessarily mean FSH is worse. (You can do it wrong even in PSH; your only advantage here is that your body is in contact with the ground, and you can easily stand up and abort the attempt. There are plenty of testimonials/failed attempts to read on the forum.)

If you don't do your research (or use common sense) and act impulsively, things won't turn out well.

Mistakes can be prevented with information and understanding of how the method works.

For example, a few images of neck anatomy are enough to understand the basics: your carotid arteries are on both sides of your neck, and you're supposed to compress both to stop oxygenated blood flow to the brain (neurons without oxygen begin to die quickly). The front of your neck (below the jaw) is the softest and the easiest area for the rope to penetrate deeply. The knot should be at the back of the neck and will be in contact with your vertebrae, which are hard. This way, the pressure will be concentrated at the front and on the sides, and the ligature knot (Arbor Knot) will close behind the neck (where the pressure will be less, since the rope rises to the anchor point). The classic "V-shaped groove mark" on the neck of people who hanged themselves.

You will inevitably feel pain all the seconds you are conscious; it will be an instinctive reflex to bring your hands to the area where the damage/danger is occurring; your neck is supporting/enduring all your weight and it is being compressed by the ligature.

CTB is a very tragic and difficult decision; many may come to regret it and try to save themselves.
Some may be able to achieve it depending on their setup, others will not be so lucky (also, consciousness can be lost quickly, leaving no time to do anything, as your muscle strength weakens at that moment)

Mentally you know what will happen; death awaits.. the unknown. I doubt anyone will have the calm mind of a monk at that moment.

This is a good example of last-minute regret; the girl was able to free herself by opening the door (anchor point) and causing the rope to come loose. She never even took her hand off the doorknob (a "firm" support for her body), creating a chance to save herself.
