I would like to use a pressure regulator that allows the working pressure (outlet pressure) to be regulated. Is 5 bar ok for a regulator?
You can't use a normal pressure regulator because they are to insensitive.

@GasMonkey tested this with another user after he discovered the needed adapters to attach the LDV to the regulator.

You need a pressure regulator that is designed for SCBA.

How many messages does it take to be eligible to start a conversation?
I already had reached that criteria, however; it shows that I'm not eligible since the data loss occurred.

200 or 300. both are aviable here.
Yeah thats plenty. Uncompressed gas volume (Liters) = Pressure (bar) x Cylinder's water volume (Liters). 200*10= 2000L of nitrogen

You haven't been online for a while and I think you've managed CTB.
It just seems that way because of the data loss.
1. I would like to use a pressure regulator that allows the working pressure (outlet pressure) to be regulated. Is 5 bar ok for a regulator?
An N2 pressure regulator that operates at 0-10 bar can work (if you can connect it to the demand valve), but an SCBA regulator is ideal.
2. Is a 10 liter bottle enough?
Yes. 10L x 200 bar = 2000L of gas. That's plenty.

Never seen any 300bar nitrogen cylinders. Also the the adapter available is G 5/8" 300bar -> W24.32 200bar. So go with the 200bar nitrogen.

I think the same.

I came across this adapter on a site, however; it says Not available. Do you think you can PM me any other source(s) for the adapter?

There is no direct replacement, this is the only source. If you need it urgent you can achieve the same by stacking two adapters
which is not the preferred method.

I'm almost done with my setup. I just wanted to clarify that I don't need a flow gauge regulator on top of the scba regulator. From what I understand all that's needed is so attach the scba regulator to the cylinder (with an adapter). No need for a regulator like this one below to control the flow, the ldv does that automatically. Just wanted to make sure I've got that right.

Don't need this right?

No that's needed for hood / exit bag.

No need for a regulator like this one below to control the flow, the ldv does that automatically.
The regulator of the scba converts high pressure to middle pressure.

The LDV acts as a second stage regulator.

Also SCBA works on demand and not constant flow.

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to answer this. It's honestly very convenient, definitely makes things less complicated.

Can someone please help me with sourcing a mask for SCB in Europe by sending a DM? I was going to use the eebd method, but the exhaust did not work properly in the hood.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

It's surprising that gasmonkey got his nitrogene cylinder from 4m4zon... I try to imagine how it was sended to him. O.o How can you make sure, that its purity is really 2.8 or above before buying? Are there any other reliable resources in germany or surrounding european countries?

bless you gasmonkey, whereever you are...

Where does one find a plastic hose that connect to the regulator?

When I ordered my stuff, I just ordered a hose suitable for nitrogen in the same store.

Are you using a normal inert gas regulator, or a SCBA regulator?

I think it's different for both.

You should try searching for Nitrogen / Argon / CO2 hose.

The hose connector(s) should match that of your regulator's output connection.

Gasmonkey has helped me a lot but looks like he is having a well deserved break. Just want to summarise my steps and get some feedback:

Im using the SCBA system:

Confirm cylinder size and quantity (10l bottle is ample)
Confrim gas is pure (reputable retailers assurance is sufficient)
Confirm gas pressure
Sit down upright in a chair and strap your body. Be secure so that you won't fall over when black out. Do not lie down. A few final twitches are possible but convulsions are unlikely.
Put the mask on. Check to make sure its properly sealed.
Open the cylinder's valve.
Take a deep breath of air and hold your breath.
Insert the demand valve into the mask.
Hold breath and Pre-fill mask (pressing the front black button for 1 second). It pumps at 400 LPM when pressed full. If you press longer gas will simply flow through the mask escaping through the exhalation valve.
Insert wrists into the straps/ropes (not really necessary)
Exhale as completely as possible and empty your lungs
Take a deep breath of Nitrogen. Relax and breathe slowly, calmly and deeply. A lot of people don't notice anything, they just black out, but symptoms may include tingling in my hands, dizziness and disorientation (perhaps like a sports concussion), gray visions around the edges.
With SCBA you breathe a guaranteed 100% pure gas from the get-go with absolutely zero air/oxygen, the time to lose consciousness will be under 20 second with death to follow within 5-10 minutes.

Also, am I right in that the hood demands a constant flow of Nitrogen, but the SCBA mask via the demand value will only use enough nitrogen from the tank to maintain100% saturation?

So I open the cylnder and my SCBA will fill with 100% nitro. I will breathe out Co2 and the cylnder will replace it immediately.

When my breathing becomes shallow the mask will still maintain 100% full with nitro but do so slowly. Once Im dead and no longer expelling co2 the mask will be full with nitro but the cylnder will not be emptying.

Conversely, with the hood method the cylnder will be constantly emptying.

Is this accurate?

Gasmonkey said: "Yeah the demand valve maintains a positive pressure inside the mask, just using the necessary gas.|

Tested my nitrogene and sadly... it's not pure enough. :( Need at least 2.8

So... if anyone knows a good source, where I could order, please let me know in a private conversation.
Its frustrating...
