Rollo i get that u are saying a person should be strong but sometimes people have bigger issues that are not solvable and prevent them from reaching their full potential (like me). I have permanent chronic back pain that I will never get rid of. I have been fucked over in the prime of my life and abandoned by my supposed friends and girlfriend. The fact is that I have been reduced to nothing even after doing so much work to pull myself out of the shithole my parents created for me. There is nothing worth doing to fix my situation.

Well as far as back pain goes - on that I can't comment. All I can say is I have chronic back pain myself and I'm not considering suicide. Still I don't know how bad is your pain.

It's not really about strength to me. Strength to me is always a mean to accomplish a goal, never a goal in itself. So I would rather say it's about goals. Like I don't believe it's a healthy goal to strive for acceptance. And since people here have problems with mental health - I'm up for discussing these kind of things. But in the end I'm not here to advise people for or against suicide.

what is your experience with mushrooms or lsd?

what is a good starter package?

pm me if you want
I only have experience with shrooms from what you mentioned. But I've experienced sublime bliss with 2c-b and 4-aco-dmt. I was melting into the couch, feeling of limitless mystical love engulfed me inside and out. It was a profound experience. But it was my challenging trip next that helped me actually make changes to my life. I can tell you how to safely buy these psychedelics and well any kind you want from the darknet underground marketplace called dream marketplace. I only ever took a very small dose of shrooms. Both times I cried at the beauty of the music I was listening to.

A good starter psychedelic is 2c-b next would be 4-aco-dmt for a deeper trip. And then you can use build up to mixing them which is many times better in my experience. I've never had a bad trip yet. But that is why I am slowing building up my doses. It's like lifting weights. It's like you have a crawl before walking and walk before you run. You have do raise the dose slowly to prevent anything from damaging yourself. BTW I wouldn't fuck around with LSD, too many people never came back from that stuff.

Also MDMA extascy is also very good for forgiving others and loving yourself.

Any other questions?

Yes magic truffles produce the same effect. I would use other psychedelics too though. Don't limit yourself to one kind of trip. Like I said I can help you find 2c-b and 4-aco-dmt off the internet.

If your problem is anything to do with life I fail to see how changing anything makes it better. My problem isn't anything deep, it's just that I don't really like anything in life.

I miss my old therapist, Lizzie. I was assigned randomly to her by the university program I was enrolled in for PE (PTSD treatment - absolute HELL DON'T DO IT) but after about 7 months it was clear it was making me worse and she recommended I try a year-long DBT propgram (she was involved with the program wand would still be my therapist). DBT group was...meh but I loved being able to access my therapist via cell (obviously in emergencies) any time of the day or week. The is common in DBT (being able to access your therapist). I miss that. My current therapist(s) (I see one for regular stuff/eating disorder and one for EDR both weekly) I can only access during business days and even then I have to leave a voicemail and hope she gets it before the end of the working day or worse: the weekend!

ETA I couldn't see her after "Graduating" From the DBT program anymore, but just inc ase iI wanted to plead with her she moved to Texas (I live in WA).

I can't be the only one who detests weekends??!

Personally I haven't. Seems like a revolving door situation. The therapists get richer, and we stay the same.
I think therapy and medication are a joke. Medication just takes my drive to kill myself away and therapy just seems like an hour bitch session once a week for an hour...

I have been taking 450 mg Bupropion XL and 10 mg aripiprazole for several years now. It had been working fairly well, but after my mother became bedridden and I became her caregiver several months ago, the increased stress made it less effective.
I got good results from exactly the same drugs and dosages: 450 mg Bupropion XL and 10 mg aripiprazole that lasted for several years. Unfortunately, I started taking prescribed high dosages of Ritalin which overpowered those drugs and I spent a good two years on a manic spree that destroyed y life. I haven't been able to recover since. But I'll chime in for that pair of drugs. It worked very well until the amphetamines were introduced.

I'll also add that though it's not the same kind of therapeutic environment I think most have in mind on this drug, I'll mention that I had a very positive 15 year run with AA to help me with my alcoholism. That recovery was undermined by the introduction the prescribed Ritalin in large measure because as one with alcoholic / addictive tendencies, I quiickly came addicted to Ritan and began to request and receive ever larger dosages, which again eventually sparked my mania.

I can't change the past, and I can't change how other people feel about my past. Therefore, therapy is pointless.

Therapy, not that I know of. Medication, yes.

I know people who are a lot better due to proper medication. I also know people who have tried different meds, none working.

Some get lucky and some don't, but that's life!

Yeah, my mom went for several years. She said it worked for her, something about "having a routine". Can't say I buy it, think it's mostly just a friend-simulator for the most part. I actually only got the positive therapy experience when I was seeing a professional about my autism not long ago (but not in real therapy). Guy ended up liking me and overshot the time by half an hour, plus he did almost all of the talking. We only talked about why antidepressants didn't work, why cbt didn't work, what I can do (not much); he did throw in some boomer cringe about "muh Elon Musk, muh Bill Gates, we need autists" and also seemed to think that every autistic person had special interests (so his solution of being a genius with special interests didn't work for someone of slightly above average intellect that can't feel curious or experience novelty, surprise surprise). But what was interesting was that he actually dropped this view extremely quickly when I told him that I didn't have special interests and reminded him of how only my working memory and verbal intelligence was anything worthy of praise. So he was very flexible in his thinking there, which a lot of therapists aren't from what I've read on here.

I've had maybe 10 therapists in 30 years. And I would say no. Not one of them referred me to a psychiatrist even though I now see my issue was mental illness and clinical depression. I do not think therapy cures mental illness. Therapists make money.

For people without mental illness therapy can be helpful. For some people it does also help them. For me - never again will I waste my money on therapy. Some of them are also not trustworthy so buyer beware.

More important than the actual advice or knowledge is the ability to form a relationship in a safe situation. Some people with trust issues have difficulty forming relationships in the outside world. Also, having someone to vent to who purportedly is on your side is a relief.

For true deep rooted issues through developmental stages or any very severe trauma, no.

Anyone who claims to be cured of depression or knows someone got recovered, is either lying or didn't have real depression in first place . Most people get confused between depression and just being down.
I've been fighting depression for 2 decades and i deeply believe psychiatrists don't and cannot provide much.
