YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! !!! !!!! !!
ok ok ok

I'm on a frankenstein marathon rn, gonna watch as many I can, specially the bad ones, but just watched Bride of Frankenstein (1935), which just... gorgeous. Watched the original like 3 times in the past week too. i just kinda like it I guess

halloween 3 is the most halloween-y of the series, despite having nothing and I mean nothing to do with any of the others, just a whole different movie with halloween on the title. But it's def my comfort one for the season

sleepway camp, summer camp murders but the production ran over schedule so they shot in late september-october, thus making no sense why there's kids in a summer camp with autum leaves everywhere swimming in cold ass waters, but also making it the perfect mood. also y'know

i could go on forever so I'll shut up now
but

The Evil Dead trilogy, John Carpenter's "apocalypse trilogy", Phantasm, Reanimator, and anything by David Lynch are peak. Of course you cant forget Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead either.

A lot of my favourites have been mentioned but there's a few left.

The Babadook, The Mist (2007), Jacob's Ladder, Incantation, Absentia, Event Horizon, Color out of Space (2019)

Probably forgetting a bunch.

Coraline and Monster House immediately come to mind. There are also some Tim Burton films I enjoy like: Corpse Bride, Sleepy Hollow, Frankenweenie and Beetlejuice. I know this one does not count since it is a mini series not a movie but Over the Garden Wall is excellent, it is perfect for autumn/Halloween.

ooo, coraline had surprisingly creepy twists to it.\
Not sure why the name Sleepy Hollow is slightly familiar tho.

It is associated with the Headless Horseman, there is also an animated movie, if I recall correctly it was done by Disney.

I watched The Substance the other day, pretty good body horror movie if you're into that sort of thing and it was interesting. The effects were mostly practical too and were pretty good - they always feel more real and it's kinda cool to think how they did it rather than just using CGI or w/e

For Halloween season I kinda have a soft spot for the really cliche stuff like the Scream / Jason movies, or the more classic stuff like other people mentioned - coraline, tim burton, all that good stuff
