Yes, I do think that. I think that it's terribly unfair how some people are born beautiful and others aren't, and how much looks impact our lives, and impact how we see each other. I say that but I'm not particularly ugly. People seem to think I'm fairly attractive. But I'm not as pretty as I wish I was. I wish I was truly beautiful, but I'm a forgettable sort of pretty, the sort of pretty that has good angles and bad angles, that looks better in some clothes and haircuts than others, not the sort of pretty where no matter what you do, everything will look good on you, every angle is a good angle. You know what I mean. The result is that I'm rather insecure about my looks.

I really love looking at a beautiful woman. I always feel like I could spend hours just staring and losing myself in her beauty. It's a mixture of utter admiration, and of wondering, "why am not also beautiful like that?". I don't know whether anyone can relate.

And of course I also hate the fact that I too am superficial. I gravitate toward attractive people, in friendship and in romance. I judge people based on looks. I wish that wasn't the case, but I'm human and I can't help myself. I hate that I'm like this, that everyone is like this. Just another reason why I think that life is fundamentally shitty.

I would've answered yes. I have answered yes to the same question over the past couple of years here.

Because of Covid and timing my CTB was to be pushed a while. I decided in that time frame, fuck it I would get the rhinoplasty I needed (for my health; I couldn't breathe at all and cosmetically. My septum was completely collapsed in). I knew I would die anyways but might as well see if I could be attractive with a normal nose. I'm relatively far into recovery and honestly I'm just all messed up and dysmorphic lol. A family member did punch me while healing so a little messed up but idk lol. I thought that would solve everything. I do feel better about my physical appearance but like nothings changed I'm still a piece of shit that can't even seem to die properly lol. This is a long tangent my insomnia has my ass I'm on day 9 so pardoooon me

My life was broken well before my teens so I don't think the looks mattered then, but they do now, I'm an old git now and rarely spoken to by many of my peers. Perhaps if I was a good looking guy it would be different now.

Absolutely. Most of the shit I am in by my own doing is because I have an awful self esteem brought to me by health problems that caused deterioration in my appearance. The world operates by superficial parameters and if you lack in them then you are valued less and there is not anything you can do about that

I 100% agree with this. My health problems definitely contributed to the deterioration of my appearance and I wasn't great to start with, so that only made my self esteem plummet further. Then came old(er) age... (and more health problems). Society OVERvalues looks but that's never going to change.

No. My desire to die is fueled partly by external issues such as my dislike of the principles (or lack of) that many in society hold. Having physical beauty (objective or subjective) would not change my unhappy view of the world around me, and instead would only give others yet another reason to try and take advantage of me.
