Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Just like i say.
It can be dangerous for people here who are easily manipulated to be scammed or otherwise walking into problems.
We had this situation not so long ago with member who scammed alot of people and even had money transferred to her account.. All was done via email and whatsapp chats outside this site.
So people follow each other blindly and think and feel safe because they think everybody can be trusted because we are here with the same goal or subject .

There's one user who isn't really on here anymore that I talk to off the site. I'm very safety conscious. They've put the same amount of trust I me that I have in them, and I'm sure it's ok.
Safety is paramount for me. I feel it's ok to share personal stories, under the protection of anonymity, but I would never give someone my phone number. I voted No.

There's one thing to talk to others on places that are also anonymous, it's something entirely different to buy/etc things from people.
Like you mentioned the poll is to see if people are aware of their own safety, there are many ways people can contact others outside of here, and people can still use fake names/info on most/all of them. So it's not entirely a safety thing as much as which things people give out to which people, and how honest one party is compared to another. But then that even applies to here.
I ran a forum once, a member said she lived in a state, she passed a place on her way to work, and it took her like 10 minutes to get to work. I sent her a PM with a map, and said "hey, you gave enough info to say you lived in this area--if true you might want to remove that post" because the nature of the board, safety was paramount.

But one thing can turn into the other and snowball effects etc can lead to dangerous situations about info on your location life going about or product. Scammers or crazy people are very convincing and good what they do, they have patience for months if needed.
That doesn't work if one or both people leave the forum, such as for recovery. if you make a connection with someone, maybe it's nice to keep in touch.
Anyway, just my thoughts. I think it's fine if people use basic common sense. It's no more or less dangerous than any other online friendship

I have a solid friendship with someone on discord that I met through the partners thread. We haven't actually given location info as we ultimately decided we'd rather not ctb together, but we have a good friendship. It's nice to have someone who won't freak out when you tell them you want to die. Of course there are crazy people everywhere, but using basic common sense online will keep you safe for the most part. I think it's sad that people from this site get manipulated because we're all a bit desperate in our own ways (mostly for connection because wanting to ctb is very isolating) and the fact that people could take advantage of that is sickening.

That's way I feel safe for any personal chats it's just as easy to use the pm here in safety, I believe that anyway. Moderators staff etc can monitor make sure it's all above board :) thanks for this it's an eye opener
I talked to someone on WhatsApp for about 10 minutes before it dawned on me that if either of us ctb first, the other could get in trouble. Going to stick to talking on here now
Yes, on Discord. Only 2 people though as I'm very cautious. We started off DMing on here and then our friendship progressed further... Forever grateful for the connections I've made on here. Stay safe guys.
