Logically speaking our consciousness is just a bunch of electrical pulses in the brain, when you die that electricity just vanishes in the air. The only thing that perplexes me is instinct like how is it programmed in our bodies some say that it's through our DNA passed down from generation to generation but babies sometimes do things that almost seem like they already knew how to do it, for example when I was 1-2 years old I was able to read numbers and count up to 100 without anyone teaching me these things, I wasn't able to speak to fully speak yet but I was able to count. It makes me think that maybe some information remains in the electricity that composes our consciousness and it might be possible that a part of us reincarnates into another body. Also, I'm kind of a fan of isekai, so I sort of like the idea of Truck-kun being able to isekai us :P

You know, I waffle back on forth on this--in a hypothetical reincarnation scenario, would it better to be a clean slate or to keep my memories and remain "me"?

Of course, I think the answers is different for everyone.

For someone who is carrying debilitating trauma or feel an inherent sense of wrongness in themselves, if they had to be reincarnated as opposed to choosing formless oblivion, I think they would choose to be a blank slate--to be someone else without painful memories. For someone with some kind of medical illness, they'd probably be okay with just being reborn as themselves but in a healthy physical form.

For me personally, my unhappiness comes from how absolutely inescapable my circumstances are. If I were reincarnated with my memories but allowed to choose my talents, where I was born, and all that, I think I could find a way to be happy. I would see that as a "just" or "fair" outcome. I don't see the point in reincarnating without my memories. After all, who's to say I won't just be re-traumatized and CTB again?
Maybe reincarnation is true and maybe you are living your 1000th life or your first who knows..

I don't believe there's anything after death, just nothingness. It still conflicts me, but I find it better than reencarnation, resurrection or anything similar, because the idea of coming back over, and over, and over again against my own will sounds even worse. Forced to suffer, repeat the same mistakes, be at the will of those in power, that's agonizing. Maybe I could still get the chance to experience beautiful and good things, but is it worth? I think not. Just this life is enough.

I don't care or have a problem with those who believe on the afterlife or resurrection, but I don't like how some force their believes upon others to force them to live and think of life in a limited way, where you can only do certain things and think a certain way, instill fear, paranoia and punishment.

I wish death was less feared and stigmatized in general. Death is a natural, neutral concept, good nor bad, it is simply the eventuality of every form of life; no use trying to run away from that fact.
It's the fact that we don't know whats after death that scares us

I find the idea of an afterlife to be horribly cruel. One life is more than I asked for; I don't need another one.

Rationally speaking I believe there's only an endless void after you die, but I can't really accept that there's nothing at all. Maybe reincarnation?
Yea, reincarnation, after death we all become isekai protagonists and get a harem, lol(this is a joke about the afterlife I like throwing around)
But personally, I would enjoy the void or if I had no choice but to choose a form of afterlife I would prefer reincarnation(At least you can die in a new body). I would like to be in one of my books, I am the author, lol + I made the world very easy to survive in general.
But even with I said above the hassle of a monotonous existence is too much for me personally so still, the void wins.

No, but I like to think I would go to another place like the one from isekai animes but wholesome, just to add comfort lol. Though, for sure afterlife is just void.
