Rationally speaking I believe there's only an endless void after you die, but I can't really accept that there's nothing at all. Maybe reincarnation?
Why can't you accept itRationally speaking I believe there's only an endless void after you die, but I can't really accept that there's nothing at all. Maybe reincarnation?
it's not because I want it to exist (although it would be nice to have a place without suffering) but it's because I just can't imagine the concept of infinite nothingnessWhy can't you accept it
You won't perceive nothing, you'll not perceive, that's what makes it so hard for people to understand and bc that's neither an easy concept nor a comforting one is why most people turn to religionit's not because I want it to exist (although it would be nice to have a place without suffering) but it's because I just can't imagine the concept of infinite nothingness
I don't think your feelings should play a role in thisRationally speaking I believe there's only an endless void after you die, but I can't really accept that there's nothing at all. Maybe reincarnation?
Yes but I need to understand something to believe in it and that's why I'm really debated about thisYou won't perceive nothing, you'll not perceive, that's what makes it so hard for people to understand and bc that's neither an easy concept nor a comforting one is why most people turn to religion
I mean I don't really have many feelings about this I just can't understand itI don't think your feelings should play a role in this
Logically, the organ that creates your conscience and lets you perceive is deactivated. You don't perceive the void you become part of it.Yes but I need to understand something to believe in it and that's why I'm really debated about this

honestly I don't believe in God too, not after seeing all the bad things that happen in this world, and also quite frankly, because of my personal experience. I've looked into multi-dimensional theories and honestly I found them really fascinating. I would like the possibility that when you die you are instantly reborn in a dimension in which you didn't ever exist with a new different life. But honestly I don't think that's the caseWell, given our reality I seriously doubt there's something after this. In my opinion the reality we live in should be way different in many ways was it tied to some other dimension or something.
I'd like it to be that way (hoping that one would be very different from this one), I'd like it if God existed, or the Universe, or some other entity behind all things, making sure good prevails and justice and balancing things bla bla bla. Sadly, this is not the case.
I think things shouldn't ever be this bad for someone as it is for us, if life had a purpose, or a higher meaning or idk, something, anything under the surface that made it worth all of this.
I don't think your feelings should play a role in this
God was a busy bee for those six days though right? Imagine creating the anatomy of just one creature, let alone millions. And the dinosaurs couldn't have existed, because they would predate Adam and Eve. And we definitely didn't evolve from monkeys. And we've been through the clouds, but not the right ones.honestly I don't believe in God too, not after seeing all the bad things that happen in this world, and also quite frankly, because of my personal experience. And this is exactly my question lmao. No one can be really right or wrong but I was asking if there could be a "more probable" scenarioI'm not saying you're wrong. You could be right, but the truth is nobody knows one way or the other with any degree of certainty. So it is wrong to act as if a certain outcome is guaranteed.
Yes but with all the bad things that happen daily around the world to innocent people and with all the wars that happened I don't believe that a God that spreads love could exist. Maybe a superior intelligence created us but certainly not a positive and caring oneGod was a busy bee for those six days though right? I was being facetious I agree with atheisam. He'd definitely need more than two eyes and ears right. It was all a trap to get people to tow the line and give their simple lives meaning, with something to look forward. For the rest it was a greedy power grab and they did very well out of it..And this is exactly my question lmao. Yes probably if something like that exists it won't be even similar to usI was being facetious I agree with atheisam. He'd definitely need more than two eyes and ears right. I was thinking about physics and science too and that's why I couldn't understand this. But I like this way to think about it. It really sounds really peaceful. So I don't believe in afterlife, or any conscious stuff happening after death. But I believe in physics, science and energy conservation law and that we go back to whatever we were before and therefore never really cease to exist.
It sounds peaceful to me Idk.
I once came across a used that had in his banner this phrase: "If an afterlife exists I'll be pissed", never laughed that hard lmaoThis life has been enough for me. Don't make me think about another one
How is experiencing something while alive evidence that you'll maybe do so when you're not alive? The fact we are now experiencing something, would be evidence that something is a realistic possibility over nothingness after death.
Do you have any concrete evidence to prove that we will cease to exist in any form when we die?
Just because we have no recollection of anything before being born, is not in itself conclusive proof that we didn't exist.
I'm not saying you're wrong. You could be right, but the truth is nobody knows one way or the other with any degree of certainty. So it is wrong to act as if a certain outcome is guaranteed.
I would certainly like that, I mean I'll ctb till I find the perfect lifeI don't really believe in an afterlife, but sometimes I fantasize about being reborn as another person and living life all over again, with a healthier mind and body. I really hope that will be the case, even though I know it probably won't.
Yeah, unfortunatly religion has been used mainly to give some sort of sense to the life of the poor :/To me, belief in afterlife is just way to cope with suffering, or to scare others into submission. There's a reason why it's more common in third world countries and times of crisis.
