Maybe because it is complicated? Otherwise there would be no war, right? It's Poutine you should direct this question to. Not me.



If you happened to read about my perspective on the matter in my country you would understand my disappointment too. It does not matter if I chose a side in this. It does not matter if I have nothing to do with it. I tried to keep discussion relatively civil. I tried to make my point but it backfired. The more information I gave the worse I have made it.

I realized that there is something common in this. It's people's ability to hear other people. If someone is incapable of hearing others and can only see themselves then it defeats the purpose of discussion. In technical jargon one side says there is no hope for the other side of the conflict because their firmware can no longer be overwritten and vice versa.

This "can't hear you, can't see you" is a growing issue these days among people and it's very bad for society. It means that no side is willing to go on minimum compromise in order to have a common ground and is a precursor for entitled and egoistic generations.

I don't want to fill our sanctuary with political noise that world leaders manufacture. It's too valuable to desecrate it with politics. No controversial stuff should make here a mess. I will stay out of it because it is just futile.

That guy is hopefully doing good in life and had I any brains back then we would be friends today.

I think @Hereforeternity is right. We should focus within ourselves and do what we believe in if we can. Respecting environment
and keeping it cleaner or helping stray animals. Even small stuff helps and that's how I am spending my borrowed time.

I saw a post on Facebook from someone running away from current conflict asking for information on how to bring a dozen or two
of pets. People critisized their decision telling to take only possessions, others ridiculed by saying it is a matter of human lives and their live yet they bring pets, others gave information and only a couple of people admired them for their love to pets, including me.
Usually those who laugh, critisize and have nothing good to say are people who would not do anything because they can do nothing.

Your body is a temple also. As within, so without. The change starts from within you.

Oh we are all human and it is in our nature to err for us to learn. Great that you understood and accepted your error. From all the people I met, not a lot can do that. There are already countries preparing to join in and stationing their respective special operatives in Poland and US just happens to have "parked" their B52 bombers in UK which is nuclear capable too. There have been videos too of B2 stealth bombers flying over in UK but I have not encountered any news media reporting it so that leaves room for doubt. Also, although NATO had mentioned that they wont provide direct military workforce for Ukraine, they have not stopped Ukraine asking for foreign military volunteers so there is already a bit of something questionable with that. With that said, Russia also has Chechen and Syrian military among its ranks now. Its only a matter of time that we will see whether this gets rolling or not.

While the Russian military is obviously committing horrible atrocities against the people of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Gov is ALSO getting Ukrainian People killed - IE by forcing them into a draft, refusing to let men leave the country. Fighting for the preservation of a GOVERNMENT, is not the same as fighting for the preservation of HUMAN LIVES. I do not care whether any Nation-State survives as such, I just don't want PEOPLE being murdered. Tragically many of the funding and weapons other countries pouring into Ukraine are going to fascist paramilitaries, like the Azimov battalion, who may use them to fight Russian murderers now, but turn around and use them against Jewish people and immigrants later. Azov I think you're referencing, are not true national socialists, anyone is called a nazi. If they where true nazis they'd pretty much take out the Ukrainian leadership as they are in effect the country's special forces.

It's more likely that instead of using them on Jews and immigrants they turn to criminality after the war and instead of allowing Albanians and Nigerians run the prostitution and drug trades in Eastern Europe, they'll jus wipe them out and take over.

Of course the houses were destroyed. This is war. The only question is who uses the civilian population as a human shield. Why did the residents of Mariupol not come out along the humanitarian corridor in early March? Maybe because they weren't released? America will fight with Russia to the last Ukrainian. Do you really think that their lives mean something to America? Iraq and Syria have proven this.

Heard on TV that Germany wants to lounder its reputation and disavow itself from holocaust. Whether confirmed or not I wouldn't be surprised of that move. Sholtz's has descendants from Nazi Germany in his government and his grandfather was general-lieutenant of SS forces.

Some US people waving UA flags on their Facebook profile without questioning don't know where it's on a world map. It's not that they are hypocrotes by a choice. They just try to keep their status and virtue signal so cancel culture won't cancel them out.

Maybe there's a bright side to this conflict though. Americans trusted their government when their military went to Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya to bring upon peace but when something involving their own safety happened like 9/11 some of them have started doubting their government. Yeah, those people who are labeled today as conspiracy nuts which I consider derogatory. The US is not going to attack Russia. You don't have to worry about that.
I do think that the US has been too aggressive about allowing NATO to expand along Russia's borders. It's poked the bear, so to speak.

These are sovereign countries that should be allowed to basically do whatever they want - reaching out to the west for protection from Russian aggression. Poland, the Baltic states, Finland etc. don't want to end up like Chechnya.
But I can understand Putin's paranoia. If China had a military alliance with Mexico, the United States would freak out. That said, Ukraine is a sovereign nation and nobody has the right to invade including Russia. And of course, there's no excuse for widespread rape and murder of civilians.
