Cruel site users

All these new people...
I used to greet and welcome them, but now that I suspect they're coming in waves from another site as pranksters, I don't trust any of them. Some may be legit, but who? How can I tell? I'm on my back foot now with new people and I don't like it.

You're not alone, if it helps. I feel the same way, and I hate it. Because we don't know what people are going through, why they're here. I would feel horrible if people seemed standoffish when I joined earlier this year, so why am I doing exactly that? I hope that it passes for both of us - I think it's in part because of the atmosphere, which will likely change soon enough.

They would like to stop all of us from having the ability to ctb. I don't think there is enough vitriol directed their way. People are suffering terribly.

It's not like pro-lifers are bombing hospitals, though I'll acknowledge that CTB is the only option many people have to end their suffering. But it's so rare that CTB doesn't damage someone else. Even if people hate you, someone finds the body. I just can't find anger in myself for a group of people that opposes suicide; the act so often causes so much pain. I believe it's a right, but there are lots of other hills to die on as it were.

Why is there a discussion of whistleblowers? That should be a separate thread.

I think because it's related to calling out cruel site users, or monsters, as you said earlier. (Not sure if you were referring to the same group, I just assumed you did.)

Whistleblowers calling out a behavior (within a group) they consider bad is similar to users on this site calling out other users on a behavior the accusers deem as bad, and the users who display such behavior as cruel.

Are we talking about who I think we're talking about?

I don't know. Do you know? Without the specific names, how do I know we are talking about the same person or a group of people?

They need to try to feel superior and we are easy pickings. We're vulnerable. Why not have some easy ego boosts. And it feels good to them if you can hurt people too. A pack met me to TRY TO make me feel like shit as I first posted something. I'm familiar with this type and they failed, but since then I've been a target.

They are aggressive personalities. That video I posted above talks about the various forms this can take. They are seeking to assert dominance over others.

I remember a member making a thread asking people to "run off the grid" with him. Sounds like a predator. Can't find the thread though.

They made the thread back in April, then their account was banned. They made an alt account and reposted the same thread recently.

I've run into a few site users who get off with each other trying to be cruel against people they like to think are easy pickings. And I know one of them has already been identified as a problematic bully on this forum. I've noticed one of the tactics that certain serial abusers use is to impose a loud presence posing as the most correct protector against other abusers. It's insidious and disruptive.

people who come on here to taunt others who are in pain are more sick than the people they're trolling. i don't know what could drive a person to do something like that.

I remember that thread but I don't know what it was anymore. I may have even posted in it or talked to whoever started it. I didn't see the reposted thread or that they were banned. I think they were talking about paying for people who didn't have the funds to join them.

Yes, and they like to point out "red flags" in others' posts, and accuse them of manipulation while morally grandstanding and feigning fairness and impartiality.

Some people love to trick and manipulate others and what better place to have fun (fun in their minds I mean) than on a suicide forum. Vulnerable people are more susceptible.

I have been subjected to outright straight up bullying here. And watch out for those who like to "pounce" on new members.
"You can talk to me" is a favorite phrase.

Thats how I dealt with a sociopath here at one point. They reached out wanting to help me and it lead to a month of abuse
