Tried diazepam today. I hoped that it would either numb some of the pain and make it easier to cope or help me relax into the idea of ctb so I could actually see it through to the end, but sad to report that it is not a magic pill and it did not do either of these things- just made me sleep all day. So still stuck.

Try taking one when your wide awake. You should feel benefit and relief then.

I did unfortunately. I took it after a very decent night's sleep. I didn't feel any better mentally, just started feeling tired again an hour or so later.

Ah sorry to hear. I used to take them in morning and they sent me back to sleep. So now take one about 3pm and feel the benefit more. Its a waste of relaxation taking then when asleep as you don't feel the sedation effect like you do when your awake. I hope you get some concious benefit from diazapam.
