okay but this is one of those things. like, i understand that a society that hyperfixates on appearance can cast you aside if you don't abide by those standards.

but the inverse of that is literally being objectified, dehumanized, reduced to less than human because you're fuckable. you don't know who's being nice to you because they like you or because they want to use you for a sexual need, or for what you represent for their insecurities. like. yea, you get a lot of advantages, but it can feel very empty--best case scenario. worst case, you're raped and used because someone thinks you're that irresistible.

i really can't even compare anyone's experiences. this whole forum, this thread--at least to me--is a moment to like, practice compassion or whatever for other people are like for real, we all have reasons we want to die.

It's that old story, the grass is always greener on the other side. Good looks, wealth and fame do not come with a guaranty a health, contented life. Mental illness as well as physical illness can happen to anyone. It doesn't discriminate against anyone. Whatever issues any of us face someone who "has it all" will be dealing with those same problems.
this! Suffering is indiscriminate.

Is this insinuating that only ugly people deserve to die...
But I guess I see your point since people are nicer to more attractive people and they get more support so it seems strange that they would CTB

Good looks doesn't make you immune to suffering in life. Only thing you'll get is more pity after you are dead, when it's too late.

I'm tempted to upload a picture or two of myself, now that things are turning around - I haven't got to worry anymore.

Is this against the rules?

I think it's done at your own risk. A few members have posted pictures of themselves and I guess they're not worried about people finding out about them being on SS

Ok, if others have done then I assume it's not against the rules.

It was a suicide but when you read the news story it's like they are seeking fault for her ctb

They say it's because she was reported by her therapist as being ^emotionally immature!^ !! Doubt this is what sent her over
Occupational health reports have a tendency to find whatever you want them to find.

It's a political process, very rarely a process concerned with supporting staff.

Do you feel like there are things in life that could make you happy? (Would love to hear what they are, if so, if inclined to share.)

Yes, true LOVE

Depression and suicide do not discriminate, beautiful people kill themselves all the time and being attractive doesn't make you immune to depression.

I often get told that I'm pretty but first of all I don't see that because I have BDD, and secondly I'm going to kill myself in a few weeks anyway.

I am good looking and subject to the vagaries of human existence, like anyone.

From a good looking person, get me out of this hell.

Are we supposed to take your word on that?
We accept nothing less than a photo in order to accept your claims.
And if you were truly good looking, you wouldn't have a problem with that... now would you?

PS. Joking... but I, for instance, have posted my own photos on this forum, so I'm morally justified for asking for some proof. :halo:
Ok, if others have done then I assume it's not against the rules.

This is me....

Man, I would have never "recognized" you.
I imagined you totally different. :ahhha:

You shouldn't assume people are nicer to attractive people. In some cases it just means they get used for eye candy (been there done that :aw:)

If all you've got is your looks you're fighting a losing battle and if you wasted your youth because of them you might rightly want to kill yourself. I had everything going for me and that wasn't good enough. Wanting plastic surgery ruined my life and I never even got it. I think had I got it and it had been a disaster it wouldn't be any worse than what did actually happen. I still look ok but what does it matter if I can't look myself in the mirror anyway. If looking back at old photographs is painful knowing I was hiding away at the time. All I did was waste what I had and ruin the person I was. All for nothing

The "I have decided" print seems kind of ominous when it's posted on this forum. Btw this is an open forum that anyone can access so I am not sure it is wise to post your photo here.

There are some that are treated badly because they are good looking, especially the ones who actually refuse to turn it to their advantage. Some of these people are actively discriminated against as angry, bitter people around them instantly assume that their lives must have been automatically better and so actively work to make their lives WORSE, convinced that they're dealing out some form of retribution and evening the scales, when in fact they may have just made a tough life a little bit more unbearable.

For every shiny, beautiful person who apparently floats through life seemingly without a care, there are ten horrible little goblins (I'm talking inner beauty here not outer) who would tear them down upon sight out of pure envy, all on the perception of perhaps a few seconds in most cases. The kicker is, the ones who actually are manipulative and completely up themselves generally don't give a shit about such petty revenges and inconveniences; it's the self-conscious, modest ones, who haven't had such a sweet run of things, that these "bids to even the balance" actually destroy.

All down to an ASSumption that life must be a breeeeeze if yo pretty

Super cool plane. If I could do one thing before I shuffle off this mortal coil it would be to have a go in one (as a passenger obviously - oh if only I could fly one).

Totally iconic, from the look to the sound - the merlin engine isn't it?

That roar, I think everyone in the world would recognise it.
Even the name actually, that's something you don't really think about - Spit Fire. Awesome.

They knew how to do things back in the 40's.

Been on both sides of the fence, I mean I was never hot but I had an androgynous appearance that appeals to certain people, and honestly they both suck. Just as lonely then as now except now no one pretends to love me and I don't have to pretend to love them.

Beneath all of these suicides is likely some kind of neurotoxin masquerading as medicine or a pill.

You wanna know why Michael Jackson died? It's because he was on goddamn benzos which cause even more insomnia. His doctor was killing him slowly.

I don't have anything to back this up but from what I've read there's a correlation between potential shooters being prescribed antidepressants and them acting on their fantasies. It's a different scenario, and take it with a grain of salt but I wouldn't be surprised.

Mental illness and poor quality of life comes in all degrees of hotness. It can help things for a bit, but looks fade with time.

Aslo, @BipolarGuy. You're a good looking guy, and quite brave to post pictures.

exactly which is why i dont understand the "argument" on the subject. yes nongood looking people have it tough, but not every good looking person is popular. every single day i was in school i was getting used for my looks and in some cases they used me a bit too much.......because somehow people forget being pretty isnt all unicorns and rainbows, depending on who you are, being pretty can be closer to a curse.

edit: honestly some times i wonder if i should get a gender surgery just so i can go outside without being checked out. (not that guys have it any better just that id rather have people not pay attention to me. plus i wouldnt ever anyway, im not going to get a surgery to save myself from being paralyzed from the waist down and im not gonna do it for this reason either)

I always wonder what would happen if there was another world war - I think it would escalte very quickly to armageddon.

The spitfire cost about £10K to build in the late 30's which is about say £700K per aircraft toady, and it was cutting edge.

By comparison a eurofighter costs between 90 million euro and 125 million euro each

Each missile probably costs more than a spitfire. and how many of those would you have?

So within a month of ariel combat all missiles would probably be used, most aircraft would be reduced to very expensive flying machine guns, so whoever has the most and cheapest flying guns would probably achieve air superiority.

A bit like the war games where the US pitted one US admiral against another US admiral, so admiral 1 decided to launch dozens of small motorboats with bombs on them against the $Billion dollar warships and won within about 15 hours.

So they classified that and started again, making that option against the rules.

Allegedly / supposedly / etc/

I mentioned in another thread that I hate this notion because it bolsters the fact that we value good looking people and they should coast through life. The ugly deserve to die. Anytime a pretty girl dies, you see "but she was so beautiful" and etc.

It shouldn't matter because good looking people have problems too.

It's mad, in my head I'd kind of turned your cool avatar into a more human look - so I kind of had that or something based on that as how you looked.

I think the stubble is probably the most shocking part :hihi:

No, I imagined clean shaven. I'm a stubbly person - well it ranges between clean, then stubble, then looking like a tramp because I only shave when I can be arsed.

Well since we all have to wear face masks now then maybe suicides will go down among ugly people? And maybe up in good looking ones?
