Hi all - I don't know whether I am depressed or BP II myself, or maybe Aspergers - but I only have a few of the symptoms, or maybe it's PTSD. Who knows! It will take me time to work that out.

What I do know is I had one of the happiest evenings of my year the other night on Modafinil. I am scared to use it again - as while there are great reviews of it for depression, for some people it stops working after a few uses, and I want to keep the magic.

Anyway here is a link to studies re adjunctive Modafinil for Bipolar. I haven't read them properly yet - I don't know if it suitable for BPI or BPII or both - but actually from first glance it might help both:

Have you ever taken anything similar to Modafinil in the past? Any wakefulness agents/stimuli ? I'd be interested to know.

The U.S. military gives soldiers Modafinil for combat situations.

A few years ago I read some article about Modafinil being great for weight loss. So, I became obsessed with trying to convince my shrink that I should be on it. He said that Adderall (which I've been taking for several years) was more powerful than Modafinil for weight-loss purposes anyway. I've always been curious about this drug.

I've had modafinil, I don't find it does anything for depression. After the first few days, it did give me a headache and a restless feeling, but no improvement in getting up and living life. Also caffeine does fuck all anymore.
