Every day is the same thing. 3 or 4 hours of sleep. I'm dead inside, I can't form full sentences when I speak, I feel like I'm getting progressively more stupid. I'm so tired.

I'm right here with you. I went from a model student in my uni program to an incompressible mess, so I definitely feel you on the getting dumber part. Feels like only three of my braincells are working at the moment. I hope that you can get more sleep or find some relief otherwise in the future. But in the meantime, you are definitely not alone.

Me too. The problem with sleep dep is that it compounds and gets worse. I've lived like this for awhile. I don't think I can go back. Maybe when I go to the bridge one day I can just lean over and sleep as I fall lol

the only way I can sleep is if I stay up for 24 hours or more..otherwise id lay awake the whole night. I can't seem to sleep at night either. I feel too alone in the dark.

Same problem here when taking those damn antidepressants Venlafaxine. I stopped taking them as the insomnia was getting ridiculous. 4 hours max but mostly 3, even taking sleeping pills didn't work. So I feel your pain.
Hopefully tomorrow when I see my GP she'll prescribe Oxazepam as they do knock you out.

They usually give zolpidem here in NL but they didn't work with the Venlafaxine. I work in IT and the lack of sleep and stress are killing me. I need to retire in more ways than one

The best sleep is when you're full blown exhausted and can't keep your eyes open as opposed to doing the nightly schedule.

To me it's horrible how it can be so difficult to even sleep, as sleeping is the closest thing to not existing, it certainly is so tiring feeling trapped here.

I took one amitriptyline years ago. I couldn't wake up for 2 days. It was the last one I took.

Do you remember the dosage?

I'm prescribed Amitriptyline 100mg per day, but if I haven't been able to sleep and I'm getting into day 2, I double it. Amitriptyline is indeed strong.

you're right.. if I had a job I definitely could not take them everyday. I just take them to go to sleep. They make you very drowsy I am only prescribed the 50mg ones but sometimes I take 2 or 3 of them if I want to knock myself out and sleep for a long time.

Lack of sleep sucks big time. If you can get it prescribed Pregabalin is worth a shot

Yes, I feel drowsy the next day after as well. There was a night I overdosed and when I eventually woke up and tried to get out of bed, my legs were numb and I fell full force into one of the bed posts, which broke the post off.

I was disoriented for sure. One of my knees absorbed most of the impact. It felt like having sandbags for legs. I'd say the dehydration and the difficulty urinating were/are the worst aspects of my "controlled overdoses", so to speak. My cognition gets shaky after Amitriptyline OD's. Memory loss as well, though I take into consideration I've had many TBI's and ECT treatments.

Actual scene of the incident - June 27th of last summer:

That's horrible sorry:(

TBI - traumatic brain injury (I have a long history of them beginning from the time I was 3. We were evacuating before a hurricane and my father hit the brakes hard in traffic - I wasn't in a car seat or strapped in, I had been in the backseat between my brother and sister and basically was launched into the windshield. My parents didn't seek medical attention for me, they just laid me down in the back seat which is not at all what should've been done but, here I am)

ECT - Electroconvulsive Therapy (I've had approx 20 treatments spread out over 2 years and really, I didn't care so much about the damage, I did it mainly for the anesthesia. I love being under anesthesia.)
