I've been told I was too nice. I've been told I was bulimic when I was physically ill by two different facilities. I've been told I was hallucinating when I wasn't. A lady didn't say this to me, but said in front of me that the reason there were no male staff at the residential house I was at was because 'there were no pretty girls'. (She was one to talk, ugly on the outside and inside). This isn't talking but the guard who stood outside my door when I was getting treatment for pneumonia from a heroin overdose made scary faces at me through the window where I was basically recovering from almost dying. Other stuff has happened too but it was more insidious and hard to explain, but a lot of bullying. My worst fear is going back to a mental hospital or even a hospital.

Same Lizzie I'm terrified of hospitals now and anything to do with them.
Mental health called me today I have no idea why as the discharged me months ago and I had a panic attack just seeing the number. I didn't answer it. There not very nice people.

That's horrible! That just adds to my fear of hospitals. They can do what they like, who would listen to a crazy person

While I was in the psych unit my very first visit to a psychiatric facility I kid you not, one of the psych nurses during a group activities told me to suck it up
They want us all to suffer in silence

What happened to secularism? If I wanted "gawd" in my treatment, I would go see a priest not a doctor. What the hell does "god" even mean, everyone has a different definition for it, it's an empty word.

I believe it! Some psych nurses should be decapitated...and their family members forced to watch it in slow motion...repeatedly. Hope that isn't too harsh and sorry to hear of your experience. I still think they should be decapitated though.

I must agree emphatically disagree.they just don't have the experience to have enough empathy , not critical training
Maybe they are more miserable than their patients... All their life they were told to get good grades, go to college, and get a job that requires a degree and their life would be perfect. They were lied to.

I never understand it. The guidelines in the .uk is try everything first before antidepressants but then the some drs won't refer to "everything first" unless medicaticated. Bloody hell this life is craziness

This happened to me too, not getting medical treatment when I needed it after my heroin overdose (I finally got treated for my pneumonia and later my infected wounds but that's it) I still haven't been treated and feel like shit all time. Not sure if anything can be done but would at least like the courtesy of medical care

Had a specialist in Neurology tell me my condition was psychosomatic, only for a professor of neurology and 4 neuro specialists to confirm the illness a few months later.

I'm sorry that happened, what an ass. I'm currently in nursing as well btw. Just started nursing school.. it's ironic how we're in a profession that saves lives, yet we want to take our own.

Medical professionals have higher rates of suicide, especially female doctors which are 3 or 4 times higher than gen population.

Veterinarians also.

I er... didn't know that. For me it has always been medication first. But apart from CBT there really isn't much available. CBT is the magic band-aid that cures all mental health issues. Of which, I hear they've stopped that now.
