every time i try to find my carotids i fail. i can always still breathe when i'm hanging. i've tried psh and fsh and neither ever seem to work for me. what am i doing wrong?

About partial:
You're actually supposed to breathe. It's never about blocking the airway, or it would be an agonizing death. To compress the carotids, try placing the rope lower or higher on your neck (usually higher), as well as finding a different body position (L shape, kneeling closely above ground while still hanging). You could also try folded socks as padding on each carotid.
Regarding full suspension, I recommend Evelyn Lane's threads.

farewell wiki also has some pretty good resources, i think using both thumbs and pressing as outlined in the wiki is more consistent than just using one hand if you were doing it that way, but thats just my experienceSimilar threads
