I'm also doing SN and considered a hotel, but I really want to do it in the comfort of my home on my bed. I live alone in an apartment building. I think what would happen is my work would be the first to notice I am not clocked in and they'd have to reach out to my emergency contacts - my sister who's across the country and my ex who could be out of state or in my state bc of his job. He'd be more likely to be able to travel to me and he has the extra keys to my apartment so I'm really afraid it'll be him. Possibility he would call me and he might have access to find my phone or laptop (I don't know if it's set up it used to be when together) so maybe he'd call the cops to check the apartment out. Or I was thinking of taping a note on my door or slipping a piece if paper out - my landlords have taped notes to our door for messages to us so maybe my neighbors would think it's that and not touch it and most mind their business anyway. And the note would say I passed and please call the cops - so I feel bad that they would find me but they do deal with crisis everyday. And yeah we are all gonna die and be found by someone. But I just really don't want it to be a loved one. Might be apartment maintenance people.

Someone working for the rental company, I guess. No one would notice or think about me aside from when my rent is late.

Hi, do you know who will find your body after ctb ? I'd like the cops because i'd like to avoid trauma for my family (with SN the corpse will be blue i think, so even more traumatic). i live alone and i'd like to ctb at home around midnight. only have a cat but he won't give alert... i don't want to go to the hotel. people who work there will be traumatised and it's not their business. just wish i had a deadly illness or a painless accident. so fucking tired. i plan to ctb with SN in september or october if I don't go crazy before
First responders if anything, i would never give my family the trauma of kms in a way where they would discover my body. In general i wish for my death to cause the least amount of pain to anyone as possible (although i know its inevitable and we dont live in a perfect ideal world where that can happen)

If i wanted to really kms in the middle of an unknown forest in a desolate location where my body would never be found i could but im sure my family wants my ashes/corpse

Double edged sword, either give first responders PTSD/grief or your family never being able to bury you. Damn typing this out i wish suicide wasnt such a moral clusterfuck

I have maybe an idea : my cat is often outdoor at nights and she comes in the morning in front of my apartment while meowing. So my neighbours will see I won't open, and if I put a note under my door telling them just to call the police, it could solve this problem. A little bit strange, i agree, but I'm a strange guy...

Hopefully the Police.

Still deciding on either at home or a hotel room.

Re using a hotel:
Someone mentioned on a post about renting a hotel suite instead of just a single room, so there is an internal bedroom door you can shut. Puts the cost of renting the hotel room up obviously.
And then put a 'Do not enter. Police only' note on that door for the hotel staff to see, who will be the first to enter your room after you don't check out.
Or I suppose this might work too?: rent the room for a few days after and send a delayed email to someone to say please contact this hotel and tell them to call the police or manager to go to my room, and possibly say why so there is no nasty surprise for them. Maybe send the email to the hotel itself, or both?

Or at home and sending a delayed email to someone, or a few people, to say please call the police and tell them to go to my apartment.
I live alone. I won't be missed so otherwise no-one will notice until the stink becomes an issue and is reported or the maggots start falling down into the apartment below me. I'd like to avoid this scenario if possible.
Also doing it at home would probably traumatise my neighbours a bit, which they don't deserve (I live in a fairly compact block with a shared entrance/stairs/gardens etc., we know each other). And it may devalue my apartment property sale value, which would affect the beneficiaries I have left it to.

So to answer the original question, hopefully the police in either case.
I'm not wanting to traumatise any innocent people by them finding my body, nobody deserves to have that experience.

I quite like the idea of going in the comfort of my own home though.
I think the pressure of booking a hotel room so the clock is set and counting down might add to the pressure. I'm not sure I could be so at peace with myself and going through with it that this wouldn't be an issue. I guess I won't know until I try for real.

Hopefully nobody, at least not for 10 years when I'm mostly decomposed, and nearly all bones.

I think my cats would first. Which is unbearable to me, my babies finding me, not understanding, putting their heads to my hand to pet them, lying at my feet to fall asleep with me.
Then my boyfriend would. Can't imagine how that'd affect him. I wouldn't want that for him but, I wouldn't want anyone else to alerted so I wouldn't tell anyone else. Write my notes and CTB tucked into bed, comfy and ready to go.

Kinda a tough one. I dont want to be found but that's even more difficult than the ctb part. If I did it in my apartment its tough to tell. My coworkers would probably notice first and they would probably come to my apartment and possibly call a wellness check. If I choose to lock the door, then probably the cops. If I didnt, then probably either my coworkers or friends.

The police, for sure. Luckily I live very far away from anyone I care about but Ill put a note on the door just in case. Wouldn't want burglars to be traumatised lol.

Depends on location. Relatives if done in home, shocked landlord if done on rented home, fisherman or passerby if done in beach, crows or wolves if done in deep steppes.
