Discussion Which is hotter - Charcoal or a generator?

I was wondering which of the two gets uncomfortably hot: Charcoal or a generator?
What's the maximum temperature they can reach?

Charcoal gets up to 2000°F - you would need good airflow for that though.

Assuming it's in a car, how hot can it get?

The exhausts going to be the main heat source. As long as it's sitting on something a generator should be fine in a car. Fucking noisy though.

If so, this won't get anywhere near 2000°F. The exhaust would be maybe 300-500°F

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.
So the max for a generator is only 500f.

Wouldn't that melt the interior and possibly the exterior of my car?
I'm thinking to cover the fabric seats as well as the interior plastic with aluminum foil. Not sure if it will help though.

As long as the exhaust has plenty of space it should be fine. There will probably be smoke and fume damage no matter what you do.
