Help Where should I post if I want to be comforted?

Sometimes I want to be comforted in the sense of being discouraged from suicide but sometimes I don't want that, and I am always conflicted so I just want general comfort and I wanted to start a vent thread but not sure if it belongs here or in recovery. I don't always want to recover but I don't always want to get worse either. I just want to be comforted sometimes.

I guess you could just make a vent thread. I wish someone was there to comfort you IRL.

I would keep vent threads on suicide section. U can also create one vent thread where u would put all your vents like some users have done instead of creating new ones everytime u want to vent.
I saw that u want to recover so good luck with that and much love

I have a vent thread in the private suicide discussion. I enjoy receiving messages there. I never feel like they're encouraging me to live or CTB; they're simply there, telling me their stories and sharing knowledge and experiences that might be helpful. It touches my heart. I feel less lonely, and just that is enough to make me want to keep moving on.
I think it would be a good idea for you to also make a venting thread, so you can notice patterns in your thoughts, behavior, and the things that trigger or upset you—kind of like a journal. Writing can be helpful for self-descovery, sometimes other people can notice things that you overlooked :)

Aww me too. My bf can comfort me when we hangout but we don't live together yet so we only see each other once a week and I don't want him to associate it with sadness and honestly I don't really want to tell people I know irl about my pain these days so I just pretend to be happy.

I think recovery might be better if you want to be dissuaded from suicide. As other people have suggested though, the 'private' part of this page may also be good. I think more though, it's how you set the tone in your post. So, you can request that you actually want more support not to suicide.

I would make a vent thread in private suicide discussion. Since it can't be viewed by lurkers as they don't have access , you can share more personal stuff as well if you want.
