Feeling that mood shift again, I'm very aware of my diagnosis of BP II. Thankfully, I should have more energy soon. I can only hope this lasts a good while before the inevitable downswing.
My mood swings have almost a seasonal nature to them, and the changes can be dramatic. In a year, I can drift between women's sizes 8-14 through no effort.
My trial with the milder mood stabilizers failed. I could not tolerate lamotrigine or quetiapine's side effects at therapeutic doses. I told my psychiatrist that I'm willing to try lithium. I'm not sure how helpful it will be for BP II, but I don't have any other options as far as medication goes.
So how goes it for my comrades riding the bipolar roller coaster?
