Thank you. I began writing it in June 2018 and completed the first draft of about 60,000 words in December 2019. I am currently rewriting, revising, and doing more research. When my manuscript is complete and ready to be sent to a literary agent, I want the manuscript to have between 80,000 and 90,000 words. I have applied to be a mentee for the Writer to Writer Mentorship Program sponsored by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP). I strive to take my writing seriously since I believe it is my only shot to leave a legacy strong enough for millions of people centuries from now to remember my name and life story. That is my fantasy: that people will still know about me and admire me in the year 2525 — if humanity still exists by then, of course I believe in an afterlife, although I suppose posthumous earthly fame will seem irrelevant if, God willing, I make it to Heaven.

I'm gonna try to stay alive for as long as possible for a family member and I technically set myself a goal of 10 years but tbh I'm ready to go right this second. It's hard to live for so long with no desire to deal with anything in life and just looking forward to death. Not sure how I'm gonna manage it.

So I'm not afraid to admit it atleast but I feel ashamed that I can't be like the rest of you all.

I don't think so. Most of us are very similar to you in that regard. I'm currently hoping to do it sometime in the first half of next year, but knowing me, this plan will come to nothing.

I can relate to this very well. Once again, what you wrote is probably true for most of us. As a matter of fact, there are several members who have experienced a tragic event or health problems and still haven't managed to kill themselves. If they can't, how am I supposed to do it?

I feel ashamed that I can't be like the rest of you all.

You shouldn't. This is not a contest about who manages to kill himself first, and no one should feel pressured to do so just because he sees other members of this site leave.

Because I want one last Thanksgiving, Christmas, and another special event for me so it had to be after Christmas. Why specifically New Years Eve?? Because I want to do a toast with SN with my partner.
