the only thing still keeping me from CTB is this question. I can never know what lies after death and i get anxious thinking about it. Would love to hear other perspectives

I believe its the most likely answer too. Still hard for me to grasp thoughI suspect nothing tbh. It'd be just like before we existed to begin with.
I can't find any other logical answer as well. But I guess I'm still scared of the nothingness, like my consciousness can't fathom the idea of itself not existingDo you remember anything before you were born? i feel it's the same... i won't be here to know or feel anything, 'cause this is a product of our consciousness, and without it, we are nothing... I always like to watch gore videos, or animals in nature, to see, that after you're gone, it probably just becomes void and dark, just like a dream that you can't remember after waking up.
This is a very common question on these forums, It's very human to fear the unknown.the only thing still keeping me from CTB is this question. I can never know what lies after death and i get anxious thinking about it. Would love to hear other perspectives
It seems rather futile to ponder over this but this is a valid question. After all, humans fear the unknown so they invent things like religion and belief. Religions and belief aside, I believe after death is simply nothing. No memories. No consciousness. Just nothing. Its like before we were born. We don't remember a single thing before we were born so afterlife will probably be the same. But if you do believe in any religion, you might argue that Heaven and Hell exists. For me personally, I don't believe in such things and I believe afterlife is nothing.the only thing still keeping me from CTB is this question. imo we don't exist continuosly even while alive. for example during dreamless sleep. you go away during dreamless sleep you disapear. that tells me what i am is an illusion created by the brain.I believe its the most likely answer too. Still hard for me to grasp though

i think it's a dreamless sleep. i worked in a mortuary & that lowered the fantasy of death for me & i started to understand it scientifically & biologically. your body is an electrical system. just like any device, once you disable the power supply the rest of it is just pieces of metal & plastic, so are "you" and your body. i think once your brain & body has its final surge of chemicals & hormones, you fall into death the way you fall into sleep.the only thing still keeping me from CTB is this question.
