I'd hope for some kind of peace and relief, and that I could see family members who've passed, even if just for a moment. In reality I don't know if I actually believe in an afterlife

All I hope for is non-existence, I just want to never exist ever again with this existence I always saw as the most cruel, terrible mistake finally gone and forgotten, for me only non-existence could ever be desirable, all I wish is to be unconscious for all eternity with no more pain and no more suffering and I suffer simply from existing, it's all just so terrible and dreadful to me and I'd just never wish for any of this.

For me non-existence really is the only peace in this existence where there's all this suffering all for the sake of it and as long as I exist I really will just hope to never suffer ever again, all that existence does is just cause problems and suffering all for the sake of it, I'll always find it a burden to exist, I see existence as an abomination that just causes harm and suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured.

I don't believe in an afterlife. I do think it is scientifically possible, however, that we could exist as energy post-death in some other form but I don't know if that form would allow consciousness as we think of it. It's also possible, using the "we are in a holodeck" theory, that perhaps when we die we actually go back to reality and exit this simulation... in which case, there would be consciousness. There's also a possibility of reincarnation and there may or may not be any kind of remembering of this lifetime.

However you slice it, I'm hoping I'm right and it is just nothing. Granted, that is a tough concept for anyone to grasp. I mean, for as long as you are aware you have been alive. We know that there was life and existence of others before we were born and have memories. That is easily proven with our parents being older than us and then seeing how we age and become adults like they were. So, we know conceptually that there was existence before we remember being here.

But, when we go to sleep or are knocked out for surgery, we always wake up again later. It's like time-travel where we jump instantly from one moment to the next hours later, but we do come back to consciousness. It's tough to imagine going to sleep and having no dreams and never waking up again. It's hard to wrap understanding around that. You literally can't know until it happens to you.

I do hope for nothing though... no heaven or other afterlife no reincarnation or leaving-the-simulation... just nothing and no awareness. I hope my awareness just ceases at the moment of death and that's it.

Reincarnation to a better life

Same here! I hate my life as it feels like it was both blessed AND cursed if that makes sense. Blessed with creativity and intelligence, cursed with shitty luck and life with not much happiness towards the end. Like I hope to be a creative innovative genius in my next life who has it easy and NOT HARD AT ALL.
That I can reincarnate into a much easier life with little to no challenges and have a creative and intelligent brain, heaven and be at complete peace while doing the things I could never do here or as a last unfortunate resort… a deep sleep… a dreamless sleep that you'll never wake up from…

For someone or something to look into and account for everything about me and my life. My overall cognitive attributes, physical traits, the choices I've made, the things I've done right, the wrongs I've committed, the environments which shaped me, and all of the other things I'm not imagining. I want an objective and indepth judgement on just, me; who I am, what kind of person I was, and so on. I want to know if there was truly anything that could have gone differently in my life or if I was simply in some way meant to end up the way I did. I want full clarity over my life and I, and then would probably want to cease to exist.

I don't know exactly why I thought I desired this in the moment.

I used to want to be reunited with deceased family members but, the prospect of living with them for eternity isn't great. Sooner or later they'd start criticising! So, maybe a quick hug, catch up in a beautiful garden and then, nothing.
