I find that most people in such positions have tried and their current state of languishing in limbo is simply the result of being defeated.


After all, a loser is someone who has lost.
That's all I see it as, and I avoid implementing the term in general because of what it has become.
Any other definition is usually given with a sense of superiority over those being referred to as "losers" who are more often victims of inescapable circumstance than those who willfully choose to remain inert and unaccomplished.
There comes a point where there is no fight left in a person, so they simply distract themselves in the safest environment they can find, in order to survive the passing of time as they begrudgingly remain alive.
The "winners" of life are most commonly blessed with other privileges which they tend to conveniently ignore or deny when confronted with their contribution to the "winner" status.
And in order for people to feel like winners, they need the dreaded comparison of being relative to losers (or mediocrity), human beings in general love to feel "better than" the next person, even family members will bury one another to remain on top (this isn't always appreciable in the overt sense).
Life is an unfortunate competition with endless diminutive competitions.
Even those who wish not to compete end up being forced to do so in order to continue forward, else they be labeled as losers all the same.

A person who uses the word: "loser" unironically; especially if they use the word to humiliate somebody else for not wanting to be "successful" in the eyes of a given society.

It's not really a way I categorize people. It's just a dumb high school level insult.

Unfortunately some individuals do not move past high school.

Who then becomes depressed and inactive because the odds are stacked against them?

I see the traits listed as things worth sympathizing with, most of which may be out of the person's control.

I don't call anyone a "loser" unless they are someone who uses the term to shit on others.
To me, using the term "loser" as a phrase of devaluation rather than the strict sense of someone having lost at something, is a sign that the person using it is the ultimate loser with an asinine sense of self and poor views on anyone outside of their own shallow scope.

So even if you have some of those traits you outlined, or all..or most listed here, I would not consider you to be a "loser".
However I do realize that the majority of society is not with me in that regard, and that's the problem.

If I were to define a loser I'd be describing a person who has a severely underdeveloped sense of self-consciousness and limited reasoning as well as an inability to see the world through the eyes of other people. Grown people who still make fun of others without even trying to understand their emotions would fall under that category, or those who keep trying to aggressively change someone's mind without being able to take criticism of their own opinion. In short, people who lack the ability to question their own reality.

But this world isn't about me. A loser is defined by whatever society deems trendy at any specific point in time. Today a loser is someone who has no friends, no sex, no money and no TikTok followers.
