Well obviously there are the commonly known theories. Heaven and Hell, eternal nothingness, things like that. But I'm curious about the more "out there" theories and why you came to believe them.

A theory I've heard and somewhat stand by, is that your brain releases dmt when you die, causing you to experience a time dilated reality. If you've smoked dmt then you know it's more than capable of a trip like this, so what do yall think?

this thread title made me think of the zodiac killer who thought that, anyone he killed in this life, would be his slaves in the afterlife.

That sounds like nobody actually dies because the brain becomes euphoric when it lacks oxygen. At that moment, the soul moves on or disappears, leaving the body behind. The final stage is an empty body without soul/consciousness. This view favors methods that block oxygen to the brain.

I honestly dont know but unlike our religious representatives, i dont believe in the judgement by a bearded bastard for my sins, for there are many and i would go to hell if i was so judged. We all do die and i believe we return to nature who breathed life into each and everyone. Therein, my last breath will return to her.ā¤šŸŒ¹

My input is not related to an afterlife. I don't believe it exists. However I would gladly die in this time line if it meant to go back to the 80s when things made sense and people were less miserable (from what I saw anyway, other may have had it different). I just loathe life in this day and age it's so souless.

I believe that there is no such thing as an "afterlife", it's something that humans invented as they were unable to come to terms with the true insignficant nature of existence where we are just destined to completely cease existing.

I think that since we've been fed the thoughts of "heaven" and "hell," that when we truly do die, we get put into a headspace of which we think the afterlife is like. Kind of like a dream-like state, I feel. For some, it may be that they see their loved ones, and for some it could even be something where it's a simple, empty, white space. Who knows.

I belive there is nothing and i hope so. I just hope there is a permanent end to the meaningless struggle we call life. Though if you belive or want there to be an afterlife more power to you.

It's always fun to imagine what the so-called 'afterlife' is. Nothingness? Heaven? Hell? Reincarnation? We will never know until we get there. I will say that I have a weird theory about space and 'out there'. There's a reason why the human body can't last too long out in space. And if you listen to astronauts and the accounts of Russian comsonauts, they all say that there's no sound or anything when you're out there. There's something to consciousness. We get these ideas and such from somewhere. So, I can't really buy the nihilist idea of perpetual nothingness. But, then again... who knows?

the thought of being in some kind of spirit world can be comforting but i honestly hope that theres nothing in the end.
body rots and the soul just melts into everything then finally we're done. its scary to think about it, cuz what is it like to not exist anyway? if its nothing, then what is nothing? i guess we'll find out soon

i think it probably varies from person to person in a similar way that life does. maybe some go to nothing and others reincarnate and others start a whole new kind of life somewhere else. maybe we get a say on what we want when all is said and done. maybe some people will be judged bc thats what they believe. All I know is I will NOT be judged by some all powerful whatever that chose to let things go down the way it is here with all that power. nope. I have my beliefs about what i'll personally experience, but I don't think there's one overall blanket experience for everyone. we all don't have the exact same life experience so i don't see why anyone would assume all our deaths would be the exact same.

When I talked about this with someone before all I could describe my hope as was a "dream world". If your consciousness is really apart from your body then I think it could continue in an eternal dream. Religious people will probably dream about whatever their religion is, but for the rest of us it is the ideal, basically heaven or whatever we wished could be after death.

Personally, I don't think there will be an afterlife. I think it will be the same as before you were born. Before we were born, there was nothing, no longing, no wishing or waiting for anything, no sadness or joy - there was simply nothing. I think we go back to that, and honestly I hope we do.

curious about your weird theory about space
Just that there must be something to the idea of energies and souls. I mean, the physical human body through which we know and experience this existence is very limited to what it can feel and do in space. No sound. No breathable air. It chills the human skin. Let's face it (and this is just my hypothesis), humans aren't going to set up space colonies and floating death stars. If the human makes it to Mars, all its done is found a planet-sized coffin. This tells me that there's something missing from the human physical makeup which disallows it to fully be able to move into space. It is simply not possible for the human to live off of planet Earth. That must be for a reason (or not). Almost as if the realm of space can't possibly be experienced in this body and comprehended by this mind. Something else is needed to adequately move through space and begin to understand it. Something which the human will never have nor be. Our eyes can only see the tip of the tip of the iceberg. Evolution won't even allow for humans to move out into space. That space and the universe in general can only be experience by our energies. Our essence. Our soul.

Told you it was weird.

I really hope there is nothing. I can't even imagine being forced to be conscious for an eternity, after choosing to leave. If i ever become a ghost, i would be so angry...

If there is something out there, i like to believe i would see 2 of my friends... like in an alternate universe. But that would mean the struggle would continue.

I think we would just die, I don't think there is really a soul or anything, but I just thought of this cool idea, if matter can't be created or destroyed, there's a chance that after we die, the matter that make us up might be a part of a different organism in the future right, even if it takes a super big number of years? Or is that not how it works and I'm just stupid? šŸ˜…

That's not that weird. I think its weirder that instead of fixing what's going on here they're trying to go to Mars. I don't see that going like they want it to either truthfully.

I've thought about it often, but haven't come to any conclusions that fundamentally make sense to me. One of my many reasons for wanting to CTB in the first place is curiosity about any sort of afterlife, as I am someone who hates any question left unanswered.

I have always wanted there to be something afterwards - I sometimes think about reincarnation or a different life, and sometimes I hope for that. But sometimes I think there is nothing after you die, similar to before you were conceived. Just nothing.
