I see the positives when comparing it to not considering suicide. Back in the day I didn't know what I want from life, blindly followed the orders of other people, and took what they say at face value. Considering suicide was the byproduct of reevaluating my life and my priorities.

One of the positives is knowing that you have a (potential) way out if things really comes to shove. Over the last several years, I have sat on the option and there is a feeling of slight relief knowing that you can check out if things become too difficult. Kind of like a sense of empowerment and taking back some control in your life. Also, if you have planned it in detail, then in the future, you would need less time to plan it once you have figured out what, when, and how (method) you would go through with it.
