Don't doxx yourself, don't give away identifying info. You're talking to strangers on the internet, on a forum that anyone can view at any time. Anyone can claim to be anyone.

Use a secure password. One that is actually secure and separate from ones you use on other accounts.

Don't use your personal/primary email. Proton is a good service for burner accounts.

Use a VPN or proxy, and utilize secure, anonymous browsers.

Clear your history, log out and leave no trace if you do decide to check out.

Drawing attention to the site only hurts, not helps, unfortunately. And until the majority of society is willing to have honest and open discussions about suicide, that will remain the case.

It was very upsetting to me. I know it's probably in the better interest of the community to know what is being said about it but at the same time I can't help but wish people wouldn't share stuff like that when it drops. What are the motivations behind publishing such a video?

Is it to to serve society by putting out a "a warning"? Well, guess what, there have been tons of exposés already made including one made by the largest American newspaper in circulation and the largest news outfit in Britain and those still failed to shut this site down or to curb membership (indeed, the exact opposite), not to mention all the lobbying and initiatives against this site. So what do you think you're going to accomplish by treading ground that's already been trodden several times the length of Earth's circumference. Honestly it feels a little presumptuous.

Then there are other motivations that are worse. Just exploiting this site for clicks and views and laughs. That's just gross and disgusting and extremely hypocritical when they accuse us (even though the supposed victims and perps amount to one and the same people) of taking advantage of other people's misery (that a lot of these people can barely even conceive of) while morally posturing themselves as altruists who just want to save people while opening up the pipelines directing people to this site.

Welp, I took a peek and couldn't be bothered to watch the FORTY MINUTES of slop at this time.

With that Internet Investigator vid made recently aswell, it looks like yt ppl are sniffing out yet another source of content. Expect more observation moving forward. Also, turkey tom is the norm, not the exception, for the amount of care content creators will typically have for a topic like this (zero).

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this site goes "mainstream" before collapsing soon after perhaps. IDK, a popular-ish content creator directly drawing people to SaSu bc he couldn't even be bothered to redact anything from screenshots, seems more likely to do that, then news outlest vaguely mentioning "A suicide forum" or normal influencers trying to use to to attract clicks whie still being advertiser friendly (Tentacrul, Internet Investigator).

It's also, as many people mention, just making the problem worse with their own worldview. More suicidal people would know about and join the site now. Though, I guess turkey tom and the other slop producers aren't even gonna bother with the act that they care at all now, will they? Obviously not. The irony is that YouTube (as well as every other big social media platform) is inherently an echo chamber itself due to its algorithm. Calling something an "echo chamber" these days is hardly an insult when, not only is it the norm, but it is expected of a platform in the way we treat them. If anything, I'd argue that SaSu is one of the very sites that isn't an echo chamber due to it's lack of algorithm, first and foremost, as well as the fact that pretty much anyone can be suicidal, hence why there's people from all walks of life in this place

Plus, if one wishes to call another place an "echo chamber", which is supposed to be an attack on the platform and its userbase's "open-mindedness", they should take great care to ensure that they are open minded themselves. Otherwise, they are essentially throwing stones from a glass house, saying that the site they don't like is totally bad and close minded when they're the ones engaging in logical fallacies and pulling a 'LALALALALA IM NOT LISTENING'. I don't personally watch whatever videos have been made on this website because YouTubers in general have seedy morals and will post anything for attention. It's how it goes. I just don't care.
