Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

this exactly. straight from the tip of my tongue. it does nothing but make users on the site at risk of targeted harassment. even some of the threads on here have openly states that on their more public online social that being doxxed and being constantly threaten only made their situations worse. ironically, i found this site through Tantacrul video which is a blessing and curse (seeing that their might be potential of new malicious users). the open nature of discussing social taboos has only grounded me from doing stupid shit. These commentary youtubers have to know what they're doing is wrong, right? For one, so blatantly exposing people on here with full usernames is unfair knowing our mental states and the nature of online harassment. But beyond that, they think this site shouldn't exist, so WHY are they making it so easy to find for new people? They don't care. Normies don't and can't possibly care or understand. They get more views for covering such a taboo topic and get more money. Now, with his and Internet Investigator both making videos recently, I only foresee there being more. This site will be mainstream discussion very soon. Fuckkkkkkk.
Most of the comments are calling the people on this site murderers and basing the purpose of this site as some sort of obscure fetish for people as if folks on here like the idea of a member killing themselves as if that provides sexual gratificationThere are already lurkers that try to pull metadata from images or connect an oversharing of personal details to irl identities. Even with "good intentions" none of us want that. Hell just join and DM me and tell me to stop being suicidal at that point.
Anyway I don't think Tom's audience are the type to get the site pulled. It's probably just morbid or funny to them.
Can't blame them, doing some basic research and actually seen what's going on here it's pretty hard you know. Most of the comments are calling the people on this site murderers and basing the purpose of this site as some sort of obscure fetish for people as if folks on here like the idea of a member killing themselves as though that provides sexual gratification
It isn't going to change what we do or how we are, just make sure your account isn't too tangled with your irl identity. Most of the comments are calling the people on this site murderers and basing the purpose of this site as some sort of obscure fetish for people

That's freaky but not surprising at all. It is what it is.True. There have always been lurkers. This isn't anything new. Mainstream news outlets have covered the forum multiple times. This is more or less just a reminder of that fact.
"All activity within the "Suicide Discussion" subforum, from platform inception on 17 March 2018 to 5 February 2021, was collected and organized into tabular format using a custom Python (v3.8) script that primarily leveraged the BeautifulSoup package 22 to parse html code. The resulting dataset consisted of more than 600,000 time-stamped posts across nearly 40,000 threads, ultimately reflecting expressions of STB for 11,583 users."

Indeed, those videos quite often have bias too.First part of the video was just regurgitated stuff about what others said while vaugely talking standard pro-life/anti-suicide talking points. The second was talking about the other sites Diego and Marquis ran (Honestly worse than this one tbf) barely even talking about this site other somehow being more 'grim' than the literal women and LGBT bashing hub. Waste of time, this is why commentary youtubers aren't respected.
lolwish I ate a big turkey named Tom instead.

The irony is that YouTube (as well as every other big social media platform) is inherently an echo chamber itself due to its algorithm. Calling something an "echo chamber" these days is hardly an insult when, not only is it the norm, but it is expected of a platform in the way we treat them. If anything, I'd argue that SaSu is one of the very sites that isn't an echo chamber due to it's lack of algorithm, first and foremost, as well as the fact that pretty much anyone can be suicidal, hence why there's people from all walks of life in this placei hate it when people frame such things as a "cult" or an "echo chamber". ur just seeing it from the outside, not the inside anyways, u dont even understand somebody's struggle! if this site was just an echo chamber or a suicide encouragement site, thered be no recovery thread's, thered be NOBODY talking about wanting to change something for their own good. nobody is even really "pushed" to suicide, people will wish them well, hope for the best because if u survive, u can end up in a worse state. i dont blame people for backing out or having a 2nd thought and being unable to push through, but they dont get shamed for it.
its also of NO SURPRISE, his own community is like an echo chamber itself. they live in a narrative they shaped to be the "truth". accusing a bunch of site members of "FORCING" to have another youtuber to take down their video and calling the community "psycho" is just fucking crazy. TII hardly censored names, blasted their threads and it was a pretty disrespectful video. but, because of his subscriber count, those will be drowned out. fuck him and his community. if u know NOTHING about the topic subject and u ARENT willing to gain a proper understanding, why fucking bother blasting this site on youtube.im tired of videos like these, people need to understand they wont understand certain communities even if u try to blend in. i swear people just try to make a narrative when they know ntohing about the topic. you arent a psychologist, u arent suicidal urself, and clearly u live ur life stress free and without any huge struggles. yeah people can dislike the site and the topics but, these things reappear, ALWAYS.
it feels like when somebody speaks about an experience they know nothing about or cant experience. u can only talk and see what people say on it, u wont understand it deeply, it wont fully register, u wont understand why things lead to that conclusion. you can listen to the cries, the screams and the words but, will u truly understand it? will u see how it looks to them? can u even understand? i hate assumptions and when peopel thnik theres an easy solution for anything, they dont even understand the extremes people go to get what they want most.

i fucking hate it when people only want to see a specific narrative and that they never talk to people who do go here, or those struggling themselves. plus, if they wanna talk about suicide more, tlak about people who get bullied into doing it, who are forced to do it because of threats, doxxing. people kill themselves EVERYDAY, just because this site holds a lot of people doesnt mean this site contributes to every suicide. this site even has fucking rules, people do get shamed and banned but, of course they wont focus on that or will rarely mention it. nobody likes to mention the good side, they will always nitpick til death.
these people should just live their lives knowing theyll never come here. if they want it gone, fine then but, releasing a video on youtube, twitter or where ever isnt going to solve the problem ur trying to fix, it just brings more people in.
infact, fuck these creators too. i used to look up suicide methods online, i even browsed wikipedia's section just to see more. i did plan twice and on both i backed out. but during those times? i NEVER came here, i NEVER knew about this place. i hate yioutubers, i wish people would just talk to people instead of sitting in their own circle and jerk eachother off. these people have NO respect for others, its always about the money, not their morals.
they should go back to covering some random reddit account talking about some vague bullshit and how they were last seen in 2010 about some random shit. it was my go to, to watch scary content lol. or they could just talk about police calls that are bone chilling in they wanna go that route too.The YouTubers are hungry for views I guess. They're running out of "dark/edgy" websites to cover.
At least TII took down her video I think? I fear more videos of this nature could be on the way... Sighs.
