i'm actually really scared now. i came onto to this website to find peace and an ethical method to end my life in fear of accidentally traumatizing the kids in my neighborhood. i'm seeing the comments and it doesn't help the majority of them are making assumptions or meme-ing on it. the site has helped more than a couple times from doing a more stupid, risky, and less effective method. if anything, it's delayed my CTB because of it.

To be fair there are different types of people who come to this website. There are those who are very serious and are trying to find painless and fearless ways to end their suffering after long horrible lives of debilitating diseases or torment. Then there are those who are obviously under age or teens that just had something in their life that they don't like and are here for attention. I would say the vast majority of people aren't actually serious about ending their existence on this website or it's some cursory dive into macabre topics. I can see the critique from both sides. When you see a pink named anime profile saying they are "18" and totally need to end their life by slicing their wrists so their boyfriend is jealous you just know it's a child who wants revenge.

There's people on this website that don't even plan on killing themselves but get off to the idea of encouraging and egging on people to do so. I won't go into detail but humans can be quite "evil." I usually only engage with threads where I can see the person I actually suffering and posting in good faith. If it's some high school girl complaining about her breakup I'll just ignore the thread and move on. You can usually tell who is serious about wanting to end their suffering and who is here for social acceptance and up cummies.

Yeah that's my experience at least. Very weird but usually middle aged middle class women who are depressed and just like seeing people suffer. First part of the video was just regurgitated stuff about what others said while vaugely talking standard pro-life/anti-suicide talking points. The second was talking about the other sites Diego and Marquis ran (Honestly worse than this one tbf) barely even talking about this site other somehow being more 'grim' than the literal women and LGBT bashing hub. How do you even plan on reporting lurkers such as myself? I barely post anything on the forum, even though I lurk it quite frequently, we just need to come to terms with the fact that anything and everything that gets posted on the internet is basically public access. I only watched the first two minutes of the video in question, even though I honestly quite like Turkey Tom and have watched many of his videos before, but the amount of misinformation in merely the first two minutes was astonishing. I personally always tried to dissuade posters from CTB whenever I felt like they were on an emotional high, as it is not a good headspace to make such a, literally, life-changing decision. Truth be told, I didn't bother even checking if the citations in his video were real. I assumed they were, but I didn't really like the way they were worded. But that's just that, I didn't like them, doesn't change the fact that I appreciate the hell out of this forum for just existing and being a space for free-expression on such delicate topics such as CTB. I have my own personal attitude towards death and wouldn't wish it on anyone, thus always advocating towards recovery. But I'm merely human, I'm not so full of myself to think that I can put myself in the shoes of every person on the planet, if someone decides to do the deed that's their decision, all the power to them. I hate how the youtubers depict this forum as a REASON for people dying, when it's the fucking opposite, it saves lives.
