Do you think it'll be better to leave a note or not? Once I thought about writing a letter to every single person I care about. But will that offer any comfort or will they just be too angry?

I attempted not too long ago and one of my friends asked if I wrote a letter and I said I had written one to her, she wanted to read it so I let her. But my mam said she had no interest in what I had to say.

Thoughts?

I would highly recommend leaving a note. My mom's sister committed suicide and she said that she had wished that she had at least left a note. It provides a ton of solace for people, especially if you detail how it is not their fault and this is what you want and that you will be at peace

It's up to you, it just depends if you have things you want to say, nobody is owed an explanation but leaving a note could mean that those left behind are less likely to be left with as many unanswered questions.

I think a note is kind to those left behind.

This is an interesting question and I don't think there are any right or wrong answers. What kinds of feelings does the possibility of writing a letter evoke in you? But here's one of the things that puts me squarely in the "leave a letter camp." What if I didn't and the few people close to me said "Wow, he didn't even leave a letter." I want them to know they were important to me even though I was a fuckup.

I keep going back and forth. The reason I would is because I want to explain everything I couldn't say alive, good and bad.

I think your mom WOULD appreciate it if you explain your pov. Your comform should give her some comfort.

This is a really good point! Thank you. I guess you are right. I don't want people to think they didn't mean anything to me. Especially once I've done that.

You're totally right! I do want to explain myself at least.
