There are plenty of ways not to die painfully, even peacefully, without needing the approval of some politician. Tbh, the last thing I want to do is write someone asking permission to end my life. Stealing the abortion slogan - my body my choice.

There are many of chemicals that are painless and quick. Lead is painless and almost instant.

Lead Is painless and almost instant? I've never seen anyone mention lead as a suicide method before. It's definitely poisonous, but from everything I've read, poisoning is not normally a painless and instant way to go.

I'm guessing @endofline2010 means bullets, not lead poisoning.

Acute lead poisoning is slow and painful.

We're not looking for a politician's permission or approval, we're looking for their assistance. We're looking for their help to set up safe and legal assisted dying programs, so that risky and painful methods never have to be used. We need to get past this barbaric and primitive stage of human evolution.

Even firearms as a method (for those who have access to them), have huge risks. For those who end up surviving, they'll be far worse off after a failed attempt. The success rate for firearms is about 80%, which is the highest success rate of all suicide methods, but that still leaves a 20% chance of a very painful and tragic failed attempt.

Nah, painless death is... overrated for me.

When one is already an irredeemable and outclassed piece of garbage (example being me), I see it fit that I suffer the most painful and gruesome death possible.

Unlikely to happen here in the UK.
For us, legal euthanasia is more likely to happen than the relicensing of firearms for private citizens.

Advocating for positive change in life, is one of the most satisfying and therapeutic things we humans can do. Many people on SaSu do not have a really strong sense of purpose or passion in their life, and this is something extremely important that we can all do. Changes that we help to make will affect hundreds of millions of people, in a massive way, and likely for the remainder of humanity's time on this Earth.
