Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

hmm, tried to get the barometer working, displays fixed pressure even when blowing... used a separate arduino for room thermometer that's logged to a laptop home-server, tho I doubt I'd ever get it to control a window (open or close when I send remote signals), or the evap cooler

I dont know much about barometers maybe blowing on it isnt enough to show a diffrent reading, I like the idea of using a thermometer to open and close a window im not sure what u have access to but u could use a solenoid piston to open and close the window but u would need abit of extra stuff another way could be to use a stepper motor that turns a gear that is connected to a arm in some way that can open and close the window

Precisely calculate 9**9**9 with perl bignum + GMP

cool ideas... removing the plastic that "locks" it when not pulled sideways, and installing the piston would be cool. Ooo, there are window systems that can be electronically controlled, eg: https://www.ljpratley.co.uk/electric-window-controls

Tks... I remember a library's windows opening on their own, rotating several glass pieces, so remembered and searched. Idk if I'd be able to install until I'm in a different place... tho can install that among 2 other stuff:
- Metal roller shutter (seen other houses use them on their windows sometimes, keeps the sun out when needed)
- Fire extinguishing ball: https://elidefire.com.au/

Ah that one may have to wait abit, found this too which is quite cool while I was looking at window openers https://amzn.eu/d/bzN24gA one for a greenhouse but dosent need electronics, a automatic shutter could be cool maybe closes at a ceratin time of day when the sun shines through the most or maybe even use the api of a website that tracks the sun and closes depending on that
Too bad about all of the "does anyone else ____ new years?!?" currently cropping up when there ought to be just one so everyone can be in the same place, and also not spam the forum.
I'm a new user here. I'm pro-choice, but reading some of the goodbye threads made me feel so awful that I actually cried. It also makes me feel bad every time I click on someone's profile and see they haven't logged in for months, because I worry they might have CTB-ed.
I know everyone has the right to do what they want, and I completely understand the huge struggles you all face (I have them too, that's why I signed up for this forum). Still, I wonder if this is the best way to approach things. Maybe some of these problems can be solved, and some people's lives could still turn out great.
I feel like a hypocrite saying this, since I wouldn't believe it when I'm at my lowest. But, rationally, I think many of you can be saved and shouldn't give up all hope. Instead of looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, people come here looking for confirmation of their feelings (confirmation bias), and that cycle just deepens the despair for everyone involved. I don't think that's very healthy.
I don't know if this is against the rules, but that's just my opinion.
is fairly correct and people have been saying this for years and others have agreed yet others still will raised pitchforks and torches at such a sentiment.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all the leprechauns! We're still mixing the green beer here in NYC, with extra calcium carbonate since we know most of it will end up on the streets, one way or another...

I got the barometer working by using the Arduino Sensor Board Library (available on their website, just like the sensor board). By plugging the arduino into the bottom of the board, I found that all sensors can work at once (and output to serial)...and made a basic program to switch between sensor views on the OLED via the button, glowing the LED when pressed. The knob controlled the pitch of a speaker (with an off setting coz it will beep every 2 seconds otherwise).
Quite cool, ran for 5-7 thousand seconds or so before freezing (also, the board got glitchy when reprogramming, had to unplug sensor board before programming, and it's back to thermometer mode)
I created a dating profile on some app some days ago. It's weird, 'cause I don't plan to stick around for long.
But I hit it off with some guy with whom I have a lot in common, and then he started saying weirdly sexual shit that put me off so much...
Is it weird to not want to go into that topic until we've known each other a bit longer? We've only chatted for a couple days, online. Made lots of plans to make music, watch our favorite Youtube videos together and such, but the strange comment makes me think he's just trying to get me alone together with him for the one thing he truly values. And anyone would make do.
I guess the good news is, if he's truly around for that one thing only, I won't have to hessitate when I finish gathering everything I need to leave this world.

I know, I'm usually a lot more guarded.
But it's the first time I have so much in common with someone else and for a moment I was even excited, which never happens. Luckly I offered to meet in person next weekend so I have an entire week to figure him out from the safety of the app.
