Do you know what the name means?FixThe26
On their site it says:Do you know what the name means?
Fuck that. Its still on the parents, not the internet, to make sure their kid is okay, or to see if he's visiting websites like that. Research my ass.Just do a little research..

They are spearheaded by people who are the relatives of some of those that ctb'd on this website. They are unable to cope that the person who went through with the ctb was beyond their power to help so they pin the blame on SS for existing because without SS existing their loved one would not have access to this information. It's classic boomer behavior, they think that beating down a suicidal person, restricting their access to information and pretending that everything is ok is enough to "fix" someone in mental distress. It's a joke really, they are just people looking for something to blame. The people on this forum do not encourage anyone to ctb nor do they actively endorse any methods for people on the brink. There are discussion and detailed methods on how to ctb but none of them are marketed. It's like F26 trying to take down Wikipedia because it had information that some Chinese emperor kicked the bucket due to mercury poisoning. I swear some of these boomers need to get a life. They sound like a gang of interfering pricks. What's it got to do with them what people's personal choices are?
I didn't even know they had a site. Thank you, I will check that out.On their site it says:
"26 words provide legal protection for Internet sites that promote assisted suicide and other dangerous and criminal activities"
They want a certain law (section 230 of the 'communications of decency act 1996') to change so that places like SS would be illegal. Fuck those morons

Mother speaks out against suicide forum after son's death
A Portadown mother wants action taken against websites easily accessible to vulnerable people.www.google.com
Yo don't talk to me like that.
I'm leaving this here for the person who asked.
Most of the people who are a part of fixthe26 lost their child to suicide in which they were instructed on how to do it on SaSu. (Even though though probably would have ended up doing it anyway especially since they were researching suicide methods to begin with) one of the guys left a letter to his mom saying "please get that website shit down"
Just do a little research..

I'm not arguing with that, but I would like to point out that you would also very much not be a fan of the tone of most of the Tweets from fixers. They have zero compassion for anyone who is on this site, unless that person is young, in which case the person is objectified as a helpless "victim" of all of the older and/or outspoken people here. That said, I'm really not a fan of the tone of parts of this thread.
It is truly bloody amazing you did that. Wow.I did get in contact with a mum who was/is against this site, we spoke via social media for hours, her points, my points, heavy debate, it was incrediable, as by the end she agreed that whilst she will never understand this side of life, whilst I will never understand her strong pro life stance, we both went away with more understanding from both sides, from what I see now, she barely if at all interacts with fix the 26, yes she is bitter about this site providing her child the means to the end, but she now realizes that he would have found that info regardless of this site.

Absolutely. Absolutely.A big portion of those parents, maybe even majority, drove their own children to suicide. All who pretend to care about children only after their death should have cared about their wellbeing while they were alive.
I wasn't there so I won't make assumptions. I don't know what any of those people were going through or what was going on in their life. The families might not have even known that their children were suicidal to begin with. None of my family know. If they ask me I lie and say I'm fine.A big portion of those parents, maybe even majority, drove their own children to suicide. All who pretend to care about children only after their death should have cared about their wellbeing while they were alive. In any case, those who made them want to kill themselves are to blame.
I don't agree with this. I'm sure there are a measurable percentage of parents that did "drive their own children to suicide". And a percentage of them are truly narcissistic and "pretend to care…only after their death". But there's likely a larger portion who were doing their best. Maybe they were struggling to make ends meet and where too exhausted themselves to see the signs. Maybe the signs were hidden like Shu mentions. Maybe they didn't have the emotional intelligence to process what was happening around them. There are a nearly infinite set of conditions we could assume here, but I suspect most of them are just very deeply hurt people, lashing out at the unknown and struggling to make sense of what happened to them.A big portion of those parents, maybe even majority, drove their own children to suicide. MUCH respect to you for having empathy, an open mind, and being understanding. Namaste.I don't agree with this. And although I don't agree with their methods, I understand first hand the pain of losing a child. So I chose to extend grace, and just ignore them. The world doesn't have to agree with me.
Namaste, my friend.MUCH respect to you for having empathy, an open mind, and being understanding. Namaste.
