Teen suicides are just sad

Imagine growing up being forced to go to school which is like a prison system in most places till you're 18 and then you finally get the chance to be free and live your life on your own but then having to kill yourself it's just so sad when I think about my life.. like I gone through all that shit to end up like this at 25. To me suicide more than anything is about having access to methods. If I had a sure method I'd be gone by now

In my case I see death as relieving instead, there is no sadness in being unable to suffer in this futile existence that just leads to decay and death anyway. I'm also only trapped here as suicide is cruelly made so inaccessible, it'd be very compassionate to allow people the option of Nembutal to prevent all future suffering.

The true sad thing is how humans so harmfully decide to procreate, the tragedy is how they create unnecessary suffering and problems by forcing the burden that is existence onto others. I only see nothingness as desirable, to have the ability to exist is a curse.

I live in Canada, and we publish yearly extremely in detail statistics about all deaths within our borders. For men between the ages of 15-19, suicide is the second leading cause of death, behind accidental. https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl...dYear=2022&referencePeriods=20000101,20220101 . Yes I did cherry-pick those filters, but suicide among teens is an epidemic. I personally fall within those parameters, and suicide is something that's a constant struggle in my life. Although I did recently start both therapy and anti-depressants, hopefully they fix me. I guess with this post I just wanted to highlight that suicide among teens really is the invisible enemy.

Part of me finds it so depressing, because I do think most of them could be helped. But, I'll be honest, part of me is a bit envious. They made the choice that I still struggle to follow through with - even though I am WAY past my teen years - and it gets harder as you get older.

Its just this world, this sick world we live in. From little , younger years a lot of us lived very much nightmares abuses etc. Its still happening will always happen. I am a grown adult . But my suicide thoughts ideation started at 11y. I cant really blame anybody. They have their reasons. I wish i had left when i was 11 honestly it would have saved me so much shit

As others have said, I've noticed something of an increase recently. I technically don't live with my parents, but I'm still reliant on them for a great deal of my financial situation as well as being monitored on my mental health. I think some people have misconstrued that as being a teen and have been reaching out to me saying things like "my homework" or "my english class" which is VERY concerning. The worst part is that I feel like people think I'm one of them and it eats away at me.

The abuse and bullying i got from school as a teen was terrible and i wanted to die all the time, i just haven't done it yet cause I'm a coward. It doesn't surprise me though that the teen rate is so high, schools are nightmare factories.

I live with my dad and I'm almost 30 lol. I'm disabled but even if I wasn't it would still be too expensive not to live at home or in a house with multiple people

What I consider sad is people being so selfish that they force someone to come into existence and suffer through life, all because they are selfish pleasure seekers. Yeah, he talked about the forum on a platform (youtube) that a ton of minors use that would have never found their way to this site without that video... He played dumb by not bluntly mentioning the name of the site but that was just plain manipulative because anyone that came across that video could search and find the site without putting any effort into it. He has ironically increased the 'minors problem' of the site...

Not only abusive parents but also unnecessary high pressures, social and in school, are major causes for teens to become depreessed and suicidal. Then there's all the social media stuff, which obviously also has an impact on this topic.

I will never understand people who think that 18 is just this magic age where everybody is suddenly independent and able to live on their own. That said, I used to be one of those people before I turned 18. However, now that I am 18, I realise that people's notions about this age is all bs

Yep, it sucks. However I guarantee you that even if there was an actual age verification in place that prevents minors from accessing the site, opponents would still try to shut down SS.

Legalize and regulate assisted suicide already (including for non-terminal reasons as well). Then the parents will have an actual leg to stand on. You don't keep the practice banned then bitch and moan when consenting adults create a site on CTB'ing by their own hand.

Fucking, thank you. I'm a fair bit older now but, this magic age makes no difference whatsoever. It's completely arbitrary. And actually kind of goes against evidence that says our brain isn't fully developed until the age of 25. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Unpopular opinion: people should have the right to end their lives regardless of age. I tried the first time when I was 8.

If suicide had been less stigmatized, maybe I could have reached out to someone or told someone how I feel. Maybe I would have tried anyways. Maybe not. But at least there would have been an opportunity to address my feelings. Rather than just stabbing myself in the chest and then covering it up.

And before anyone asks, I have had the conversation with my 17 year old niece and one of my nephews that is 12. I was there for them in a non invasive way that helped them understand some things they may not have considered. I didn't fucking stigmatize their experience and they didn't try to kill themselves, big fucking shocker!!

Does it make me sad that my niece and nephew feel this way. Absolutely. I would miss the fuck out of them and I would feel for my sister and brother. But, IT'S NOT MY FUCKING CHOICE. Nor is it my place to make children feel bad about an already shitty situation.

They are personally uncomfortable with the idea of someone young killing themselves (even though they likely wish they had done it themselves at an early age). I agree with your unpopular opinion too and, while I would say I'm shocked that many people on this site would disagree, I'm not really shocked as almost everybody is biased towards children. I remember a thread tantacrul made on here where he was talking about a 17 year old who killed themselves and everybody there was so sympathetic for that person all because he was 17. Sure, suicide is tragic and it's awful people suffer so much to get to this stage to begin with but I believe that this applies to everybody, not just those below 18. I mean I was sympathetic too but because of how he killed himself to begin with, not because of his age. Same goes for everybody else regardless of age. Literally if he killed himself a year later, people wouldn't have reacted the way they did. Is the difference between a 17 year old and an 18 year old that great? I don't think so.

Suicide is tragic for everybody regardless of the age and it should be a personal choice for everybody no matter what. But hey, it's like I always said, humans are emotional creatures, not logical ones. Same goes for everybody here, even me. And people's bias for children is too powerful to where, despite people here saying that they wished to die at a young age, they would always try to prevent another young person from making the choice to die.

I honestly feel bad for teenagers these days. I'm 37, so I grew up before social media was a thing. There was not yet any genuinely whacky ideology at work, and what was there did not have the reach.

3. Life is temporary. Who cares about whether the problems are temporary or permanent. Problems in general are permanent. We will never be free of them. That's life. So who cares if I have to deal with one permanent problem or a series of temporary ones. Still have problems.

I hate that saying so much. It's pointless bullshit spouted by someone that didn't take the time to think about it. And I'm not just saying you. I think anyone that says it is inconsiderate and lacks the ability to think before they speak.
