It's one thing pointing out the obvious when things are askew or even questioning things. (with good reason, in an objective and respectable manner)...but assuming you're assumptions are correct without proof one way or the other and asking inappropriate (sexually oriented) questions in an attempt to ridicule and challenge someone who is clearly not in a stable way is just self indulgent, ignorant and callous. It's unacceptable!

Was considering suggesting a new rule addition to avoid this happening in future but can't honestly think of a suitable way that could be done.

I'm far from being a pro-lifer, but I also believe that a permanent choice like this should be taken seriously, well thought out and fully researched and prepared for. I disagree. If this is how people behave on this site, OP should see it and decide to never come back here, should she survive. I'm appalled by this and certainly changed my mind on sharing when I choose to go.

I had the exact same thoughts. I think about my planning process and goodbye thread a lot and I would be devastated if my last interaction with the world was Of the Universe asking about my boobs or Red Scare being combatative with me for some reason.

In the past few weeks there have been two separate members who had someone posting from their screen name claiming to be family of someone who ctb. There were inconsistencies in both cases, and some members were wondering if the whole thing could have been staged.

This is why I have said that the site should perhaps raise the age of membership from 18-25... of course people could always lie about their age, but at least it would be clear we aren't condoning it.
