After having access to N from a tiny little pet supply shop in Tijuana, Mexico all of this year whenever I needed it, they are now telling g me that it is pretty taugh to find it lately. I knew this was coming sooner or later.

They recommended buying T61 instead and they say they can get that fairly easily and I've done a bit of research but I'm turning to the hive mind here to see if anyone has solid information on T61?

As effective as N (pento.)?
Still tastes horrific?
Drinkable?
Who many bottles are needed to do the job?
About as expensive as N (Pento.)? [ earlier this year I could buy two 100ml bottles of pento. for 6000 pesos, about $350USD)
Any websites I can check out for further info.?

According to Wikipedia: It may cause significant pain to the animal being euthanized,[6]​ and so may be less humane than older drugs used for this purpose such as pentobarbital; however, it may have less abuse potential than barbiturates especially in the Tributame combination formulation, and so is less likely to be diverted for recreational abuse.

So apparently it is more painful, and I have not found any cases where it was ingested but only an IV which was given. There is only 1 case of ctb which I could find online. The biggest drawback is one must be sedated completely in order for this too work.

I was offered t61 from the same vet shop too & would like to know more too unfortunately I was unlucky to get N on time

Does anyone know if drinking T61 is painful? I know that for animals they tell vets to inject a strong sedative to put the animal literally to sleep first, then a second injection of the T61 to CTB. Does anyone know if that would hold true for really BIG animals too? Say, a... horse weighing about 150 to 200 LBS.? If it is accurate that the animal must be heavily sedated before taking the T61, then it might make the T61 not a good option for a ... horse to use.

tetracaine hydrochloride - 0-20%

I think veterinarians don't use T61 as a single agent for euthanasia. They are using it for respiratory arrest after inject a strong sedative, its like ketamine, propofol, thiopental.

Using T61 IV is not good idea too. Embutramide is good sedative. Anesthesia induction dose is 0,1-0,2 mg/kg but mebezonium iodide never used as a muscle relaxant. It is not trustable agent. There's a lot of gray area there.

They offered two bottles when I went. One is anesthesia they told me. Would this make it better? How about one bottle of N + t61? Like if I only had one bottle of N and want to guarantee that I can ctb successfully, would that be a good idea?
