  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

How do you feel about the stuffs you left behind? Are you completely relaxed about family members, strangers throwing away or taking your belongings, reading your messages, digging up your online activities?

I don't have friends or family. I don't have many possessions. Very basic shit. I'm going to purge my files and messages, but there isn't anything noteworthy anyway.

LMAO this is me. I have one possession that I really, really want to go to my mom. And I'm 99% sure it's the only thing she'll be looking for when they go through my things. That gives me some peace of mind.

She's too old to be concerned with my online presence.

Hopefully they'll box up the rest of the stuff and give it to Goodwill or someplace. I'm filling a room with nothing but empty boxes and large garbage bags to make it easier for them to pack up.

I have no attachment to things. Everything is relatively new so can be sold or donated. My dog is the only one I know I want to go to a good home. My ex will most likely take her since he knows how fucked I am. She's the one I hate leaving behind everyone and everything else I know will be fine

You can't take anything with you when you die. We're all going to die eventually and have to leave it all behind anyway. Just think of it like that xx

I visualize it a lot, what might happen to my home and its contents. When I lived far away from my parents it actually was a contributing factor to stopping me, the thought of my dad having to take time off work to travel and deal with my apartment, car, etc.
idk how it would work in practice though.

I think about family finding embarrassing things, but quickly realize that I'll be too dead to be embarrassed.

I think about the things I have that would be thrown away and feel sad about some of them. Stuff that I want to keep if I continue living, that I could give to others, but would likely just end up in a landfill if I died. that's kind of what I want to have happen to my things - maybe the apartment manager hires someone to haul things away, then sells and recycles what they can before trashing the rest.

I guess that if someone is bothered about this maybe they could try to get rid of the stuff before they ctb. But the way that I see it, while I would see it as being ideal to get rid of absolutely everything, whatever people think or do in this world could never be my concern once I'm gone as I simply won't be there at that point. People die everyday without having the chance to get rid of things as their death is unplanned, it's simply just the way that life is. But as I said, I would prefer to get rid of the stuff ideally.

Write a will detailing what you want done.
Close out any accounts, delete anything you don't want found, dont leave passwords.

I'm saying all this if you don't want people to see stuff

I've come up with a list of things to get rid of at the last minute, including all electronic data. I've made documents with information that will help dealing with my 'stuff'. Still have a bit more to do in that regard.

Not much family left, just my stepmother--Only thing left here in my place is a ton of pictures and photos from happier times in the past--Most pics are unorganized so she'll probably just throw them away as well as my computers--She'll try to sell the place as furnished
