I've pottered about over this for ages, and I don't really want to ctb, but I don't see I have any choice any more.

If I'd had the materials here already, there have been days where I'd have hit the point of doing it and wouldn't be here now.

So tomorrow I'm going to go and buy a mountain of charcoal, and BBQ pans, and etc, and have it all ready so that when I decide it's time to hit the delete button it'll all be there, ready to go.

If by some miracle life works out, then I'll have lots of amazing BBQs and burnt food, if not (which I'll know in the next week) then I'll be taking my final drive to the great big BBQ in the sky - and I'll be the main course.

God I must be a narcissist because I'm already licking my lips.

Pass the ketchup.

Genuinely sorry that life has driven you to this too.

I'm unsure who will be gone first, you or I. But whatever, I'll be here for you in the meantime, as will we all.

Well... if I win the lottery I'll send you some but I can't even get one number. Job wise... I'm clinging on to mine thankfully I sell houses for as long as that bubble stays intact..... then I don't know what I'd do either.
Be careful asking sensible questions like that, you might get one of the band of death dealers pounce on you.
Yep. I've been brave :heh:

@Smudgedlines
I could well imagine @BipolarGuy referring to me as one of the death dealers.

And of course he's right, although I'm not going to pounce on you right away. But of course I looked at your post history. And if I didn't take the bus with @BipolarGuy, I would keep an eye on you in the future.

Sometimes you are positioned a little too close to life. But only sometimes.

And sometimes we just need a well-intentioned word rather than the perfect method of advice

I wish you all the best for the future, may you be the one who doesn't have to take the bus

Don't be afraid of people like this @Smudgedlines , they can do you no harm.

Help people as you see fit, and remember that being empathetic isn't the same as being anti-choice :)

I have no opinion on how someone chooses to live or end their life. To simply ask if someone has explored all options is not influencing their decision. If it was then I'm sure I'd have been banned by now ten times over.

No, you wouldn't have been banned.

This website is a pro-choice website that encourages people to talk about how they're feeling in a relatively uninhibited manner.

The problem we have is that some (a handful or so) of the members seem to take what is effectively a pro-suicide stance.
This manifests itself subtly.
They won't say "kill yourself" outright, but they'll discourage talking about problems that led to a member being suicidal, or they'll discourage people from saying stuff like "remember if you decide you don't want to do it, it's ok to put it off".

Be aware of these people.
They can do you no harm.

Did you gather the necessary materials? I've seen you comment on other CO / charcoal related threads, this method also interests me.

I haven't yet sourced the items needed, but plan on starting today. Still haven't quite came to terms with this, but I can't see my life improving any time soon, if at all.

I've got everything I need sat in my Amazon checkout. Having looked at previous threads some members successflly did it using a particular type of tent, and to me it makes perfect sense to do this at a campsite in a tent - can drink without worrying about the cops turning up and getting done for being in control of a car, or finding somewhere to do it, etc.

At a campsite there are plenty of people using BBQs so it won't look out of place at all, can eat and drink then get in the tent.

I'm with you on that; I've got two Weber chimney starter kits in my basket but also need to get two steel buckets from elsewhere.

I get what you're saying about a campsite... I plan on using my car and have a location in mind, but it's risky especially with current lockdown rules. btw, I'm not a 100% certain on this, but I believe you're only considered as being in control of a car if you're sat in the driver's seat with the ignition on, if that makes any difference.

In any case, I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide... If you do decide to ctb, I hope your final moments are peaceful.

I think it's actually if you have the keys on you whether you're in it or not technically. I'm concerned with sitting in a big glass box where anyone can see what I'm doing, so a campsite makes more sense to me for all of these reasons.

I think that depends on which country you are in, the rules vary.

Wish I had a car, then I'd seriously consider this method too.

Me too buddy, it's not a race and I'll be sorry if I see you go.

I really will.

In my car in the UK
It's not a race, but you can also take care of the environment when you die. With a little luck we can carpool with 3 people on the same bus. That also makes the trip more entertaining.

I'm in 2 minds whether to do car or tent, but for reason of not getting caught I think the tent at campsite makes sense. Although as Letzte says - there's more than 1 seat in a car.

It appeals to me because it's supposed to be quick and painless. Much less hassle than getting a tank of nitrogen etc.

I guess if I go ahead with it, I'll just have to rule alcohol out of the equation and opt for OTC sleeping tablets instead.

@TheQ22 a tent would definitely offer more privacy, unfortunately time and money aren't really on my side so for better or worse, I may need to stick with my car. If it's done between 11pm and 6am, that minimises the chances of being interrupted, but to what extent is difficult to say.

Yes I think a campsite in a tent would be preferable but that's also so much easier when you have a car to get there with all your supplies.

2 man pop up tent is £50. Campsite maybe £20-£30. Yes you'd have to drive there really, but I can do that.
