Help SN ID check

Just received an email from bm saying that DHL is asking for my ID or they won't deliver it. DHL said "As a carrier, we ask you to provide a copy of the identity card or passport of the Recipient of the shipment. The document is necessary to exclude the coincidence of the Customer's data with an entity from the sanctions list. Not wanting to excessively process the Customer's data, we will ask you to send a copy of one of the above documents, so that only the key data, i.e. date of birth, name and surname are visible (the remaining data is blurred)."
Obviously not gonna send them my ID as I think UK customs will alert the police that I bought sn. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what the alternative will be to get SN.

Honestly, they already have your name and an ID wouldn't change anything.

I think you shot yourself in the foot by doing that. Pretty sure packages with fake names get flagged easily.

As far as I understand it SN is not a controlled substance or illegal to own or import it to the UK? It's used in meat curing.
The welfare checks the police do in the UK are just that, a welfare "check" only. They can't enter your property without your consent or a search warrant, nor confiscate the SN, if you were to show it to them.
If you do get a welfare check, thank them for their concern but confirm that there is nothing to worry about, or simply don't answer the door.

But yes, I guess if they won't deliver without seeing ID (considering it is a sensitive item) then using a fake name would be a problem.

I have not put any of this to the test. This is only my take on the situation from online research. Please correct me if any that's incorrect.

I'm trying to source SN (to UK) myself. Not sure where to order from. I see references people make using abbreviated names, but I don't know who these suppliers are - would be hugely grateful if someone could point me to where I can find info regarding sourcing current SN suppliers. Thanks!

Considering it's not in any way illegal to buy SN I was intending to use my/a real name and address for the delivery/courier- is this Ok or incredibly stupid? Idk...

can i ask if you brought your SN from DMC or another source? this would be helpful to know as i am also in the UK and looking to source some. DMC has assured me that they will still ship to the UK, but i am aware that ordering through DMC (and in general) to the UK is difficult right now. i am just desperate.

Nope I've been doing it for years, never had a problem. A friend also bought sn from the same supplier and used a fake name but didn't get asked for id.

DMC orders result in a welfare check so now people are ordering the BM brand of sn from BO website, that's all I can share.

It was at end of April, they came again the next morning to do the 'welfare check' but it just felt like I was being treated like a criminal, they had gone through all my possessions and trashed my room and broken my door. And they had told my housemates everything and my landlord when they came.

Ouch. That's not good.
I'm no expert on this, but from googling it, the police cannot enter your property without a warrant unless they are given permission to enter, or there are exceptional circumstances such as immediate risk of danger to life. Maybe one of those applied here (from their point of view). They are very good at phrasing things so you go along with what they are saying. I suppose if someone let them into the house then your room would not be treated as a separate property, ie. they are already in. Otherwise they were breaking the law, badly.

Thanks for the info. Are you able to suggest how I can find out more info about this? As a new member I can't DM and there is no search feature. I've done a lot of reading/googling etc and am still stumped. Is it just a case of keep reading through all the posts, or is there a particular place I should look (I've read the PPH but not paid for access to get the appendices that may contain info on sources? idk), or anything I can try, making contact with people on here for example? I found a company online in mainland europe that supplies sn, looks to be the same as people are describing on here, but by return email they said they only ship within europe and not to the UK.
Sorry to hassle, I appreciate this is a sensitive subject, and sorry @mirage for piggybacking your post.
