I've included a photo of how the sn arrived, it seems to be vacuum sealed but am not sure whether I should also purchase a hermetic seal container to be safe? I'm not planning to use it for another 6 months or so.

I am also concerned about the heat degrading it as temperatures will be reaching 40+ degrees Celsius over the next few months where I live but I have stored it in an insulated bag in the coolest spot in my home. Might end up ordering another batch closer to the day if I'm able to but can anyone comment on if they think it would be okay to use my current batch in 6 months time?

Also not sure whether I need to test the purity of it as the source has been reliable and DSL has no reason to be selling dodgy products but am still somewhat paranoid.

Would appreciate if anyone that's ordered from DSL can comment on their experience regarding if their order was packaged the same and whether they have tested their sn. TIA!

Does it say SN on the other side and is that the 50g package? It looks different than the one I ordered but no longer have (long story). I'm sure it will still be good for another 10 years.

I ordered mine around 6 months ago and it did say sodium nitrite on it. It didn't look like that.

Hmm okay thank you, I will definitely be testing it then

Also, just wanted to ask, will you be ordering another batch at all? Or did you get rid of yours deliberately?

When did you place your order ? Did it take a long time to come ?

I do plan on getting more. I'm not the one who got rid of it (long story here).

About 6 months ago and it arrived quickly.

I think it should be fine but you can always order more for your peace of mind. Mine came in the same package(100g) but it was not vacuum sealed, still had air in it and was loose. I don't have access to aquarium strip test so not doing that but the blood test looked like it's supposed to although blood test isn't very reliable. I guess I'm laying my hopes solely on it's previous reputation and the blood test. I'll be putting all that theory to a test in about a month so we'll see...

Well when I access old store it says it's blocked. Can anyone help me?

How do I find the website. I purchased from the old store.
If you've purchased before you should be able to get in touch with the seller somehow without needing the new website :)

Thanks for your response, I am still looking into the aquarium strip test but it's so complicated and I would definitely order another batch as I'm paranoid of the air degrading it.
I have heard that the blood test will work if it's also sodium nitrate but are you at all concerned about the effects you could experience if it ends up not being pure sn?

Of course I'm paranoid about all the 'what if's that could go wrong but since there isn't much I can do about it I've decided to try and just ignore them all. I've waited for this sn so long and my only other option is hanging that I'd really love to avoid. It also helps alot that there been many others that used the source and not tested but succeeded anyways.

As for the high temperatures, ensure you have some form of air conditioning... high temperatures can also affect your concentration too, leading to errors.

Fair enough, there is definitely that sense of relief since there haven't been any complaints regarding the source. I wish you all the best and hope you find peace.

Thank you, I will definitely be using air conditioning when the heat hits more than 35 degrees and where I've stored does stay comparatively cooler than outside and the rest of the home so I'm hoping it'll be okay. Also, do you recommend buying a hermetic seal container to store it in? I trust your judgement

Better to have it sealed than unsealed imo. And preferably run AC before 32C imo. I run the evap cooler at roughly 26C-28C usually.

You're right, better to be safe than sorry.

I'm not from the US but I haven't heard of anyone receiving welfare checks there? Only heard about Canada and the UK.
Is a wine cooler just a mini fridge?

no a wine cooler is not a mini fridge. it provides a milder temperature than a fridge and some are not that expensive. like 65 degrees farenheit ideal for storing SN , different sizes at least here in the U.S. but probably other places too. . internet search or ask chatgpt. can buy from Amazon or Temu i guess.

Ahh okay, thank you for the info and the link, I know that sn isn't meant to be stored in a fridge due to moisture possibly affecting it but I assume a wine cooler set at a higher temperature wouldn't have that risk ?

i didn't notice any humidity in there. there are some with up to 66 degrees farenheit .

but there are cheap humidity censors like $9 to test humidity in room, wine cooler or other storage

there are wine coolers with humidity control but could be more expensive.

Yep, higher temps can mean less humidity.

Sadly I am not sure if 40-50% humidity is too high for SN (think it is ok?)... but my room humidity is 61% at time of wiriting.

https://pinotsquirrel.com/how-to-control-humidity-in-wine-fridge/ ~ The general humidity in a wine fridge is between 40 and 50%.

Thank you both for your responses, very informative, do you think humidity would be an issue even if it's in a vacuum sealed container?

If sealed when cool, and the humidity is low at time of sealing... not really. If sealed when hot, the air that cools inside can gain humidity. A silica packet can be added to the container just in case.

I have the old link but it says store blocked. Meaning no access to any info to attempt contact.

Was yours from DMC? I never opened original packaging but now I'm concerned it's loose and not properly stored and gone bad.
