Howdy all. I Uh, I had a bit of an episode and was desperate to find some way to vent my stress.
Missing my regular methods, I ended up SHing with a slightly rusty box cutter. I cleaned the wound with soap and water, and used a disinfecting cream, but im worried I might get tetanus or something.

Maybe im just looking for reassurance but can anyone let me know if im at risk of a bad infection?

wash it daily and keep an eye on it (anything abnormal, colouring, swelling, pus). idk about tetanus but it should keep you fine from infection.
ive taken care of my fair share of wounds

Rust doesn't cause tetanus, it's mainly caused by bacteria in soil etc. Just keep it clean and covered while it heals and it should be fine.

It would depend on deep you went. I've never self-harmed, but I have cut myself dozens of times whilst working with tools. IF the wounds isn't too deep, and if you keep it clean than you should be fine.

Thanks all for your replies. I usually have quite good wound care protocol, and I'm feeling calmer now.

Just was really worried for a moment that this would make things even worse, but I think I'll be alright.
