do I even need to save screen shots of people like sexy incel and the pessimist guy, one of whom at least we discussed at length, engaging in 4 chan level of disgusting Islamophobic rhetoric, because it's apperently Legitimate political discussion lol… but several users here got warnings and comments removed because telling Incels off, or telling them that they're not entitled to sex, is harassment or invalidation or something?
Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy and not for this a support forum like this, which at very least should take RTD advocacy seriously; to me this is shameful as a member of this forum. This is literally worthy of r9k, under a thin guise of "understandable political dissent" lol.

I understand I'm not breaking any rules, I'm not harassing, saying insults, ect; I mean this to only be a community discussion, especially for those earlier involved in the incel tolerance debate here

It is in part because some people here who consider themselves incels are not really hateful or misogynist - they're falling hook line and sinker for the rhetoric because the group aims to assimilate more members by appealing to lonely, sad men. If we simply ban them all, it'll make them feel vindicated. The threads you show here are unacceptable and I hope SS will take them down if they havent already.

If it were my site, I wouldn't allow for the mention of incels or their ideology at all. But this isn't my site and it's probably better the non-hateful ones are here rather than a dedicated incel forum. As for the hateful ones...they deserve a place for their feelings, but not for their sheer hate and entitlement.

SS issuing warnings for stating facts like how incels aren't entitled to sex is a problem. I'm not surprised by these actions considering what I remember of the site's history. It's disappointing - just not shocking to me.

Respectfully, what I think you're doing here and in the incel discussion is failing to distinguish between ideas and peoples.

Ideological criticism (criticism of Islam, Incel philosophy, etc.) is fine. Good, actually. Ideas don't have feelings and criticising bad ideas is how societies and people progress. It's why I object to the existence of the word "Islamophobia". You can't be phobic about an ideology. Especially one that's harmful or dangerous.

On the other hand, discrimination against or hate towards a person/group of people (women, Muslims, etc.) is bad. A group of people using the same label to self-identify doesn't mean you can paint them all with the same brush.

Pesssimist criticised an ideology. You insulted a person. That's why they presumably didn't get warnings and why you did.

Incel philosophy is hateful. Not all incels are hateful people. That's why mods ban accounts on the basis of hate speech coming from that account and not simply because the account holder identifies as an incel. Which seems perfectly rational to me.

Working with @Dot, I figured out how to control myself, and respond effectively. Not emotionally. Because that doesn't help Palestinians, only harms them

Report hateful content. The mod team is not that loose that it's a free-for-all. I got a warning not to call parents the B word, even though its dictionary definition is producing offspring. But I accept that warning even though I feel strongly that it's cruel to reproduce under most conditions.

I also very much agreed with what you said in the other thread about the term incel losing its original and precise meaning and connotation.

You're not connecting Islamaphobia with the incel community, you just mean this as an example of other content you find reprehensible? I ask because I've read many of the more let's call them 'bad apple' incels actually comment in support of Islam, believing it will help them have their way with women. You can probably find threads about it over on their big forum now, although they just argue with each other and throw hateful comments at each other anyway (it IS a toxic place).

Of course these posts should be removed and the user should at least be given a warning. Everyone who's here has had a tough time in life already so it's incredibly important to keep this free of hate. I myself have a lot of prejudice that I will simply not express here.
